We ultimately decide what should or shouldn't be discriminatory.

The courts tend to be a reflection of the people in this case which is why all those social progressive issues are only really taking hold recently.

You see, the booming curmudgeons are finally starting to die off at an alarming rate and the next of kin are shaping the legislation.

Do you really think you can make enough laws to prevent disagreements among people exploding into violence? We warned you long ago that you would be sorry if you tried but...........

"Social progressive issues"? The term is as meaningless as the newly popular "going forward". Why is it that social progression sounds like and looks like social regression for the majority? You should hope the die off can be retarded enough to salvage your generation from the scourge of social progression.

Nah, people who are Trans (and that's just not pre or post gender reassignment but can also include gender fluid and other non-conforming genders) don't need protection! Are you kidding??

Considering how recent it's been that even 'brother and sister' gay and lesbians want to get rid of the "T", I say there's still a heck of a lot more needed to be done to help people who are trans. It's still a stigma; I was even at a conference yesterday to deal with registration in the health related workplace and when the issue of gender reassignment came up, there was a lot of people who may have taken it seriously but also thought parts of the presentation were funny. And it's not, at all.

Trans is not like being left handed, FFS. But then we've had time to get over the whole issue of Left-Handed people are Devil-spawn. Trans people being openly so are still 'new' and in our society today, it's too, way too easy to not just vilify them but de-humanize them. So yeah, they do need protections and if the Federal government can't do it/won't do it, it's up to the provinces.

Can you have a law against having too many laws?

If we can never have too many laws and we create a law that say we have too many laws, that could create a paradox, the results of which could cause a chain reaction that would unravel the very fabric of the space time continuum, and destroy the entire universe!

Granted, that's a worse case scenario.

You can never have too many laws.
Actually, according to some you can.

But that only matters when they're laws they don't like,

I can understand the need for protecting their rights. But how long before we see businesses forced to hire people who will drive off the target demographic of their customer base. Simply because they applied and meet the requirements on paper.
