It is a human fetus. You can't sweep that under the rug.

A little reading you need to peruse. Fetal Homicide State Laws

You got mad at me for giving you the whole noun vs adjective lesson, yet here we are again.

Just because you can describe something with the adjective "human" doesn't mean that it is in fact a human being. For example, human hair, human ear, human feces.

Making a point that puts fetus in the same category as hair, ears, and feces really doesn't strengthen your point.

As for laws against someone killing a fetus against the will of the mother, I certainly agree that that should be illegal. Again, it is about choice. Nobody else should be able to force that choice on them either way.

It is not an individual entity until it can sustain basic life function outside of the host. Before that it is part of the host. How tough is that for you to understand. Maybe take a few minutes and look up mitochondria and mitochondrial DNA then get back to me about how different DNA is the requirement for something to be an individual sentient being. You argue based entirely on emotion and personal belief whereas I have science and logic on my side. Don't let scientific fact stand in the way of your position if you like but at least realize your premise is outside the boundaries of science and purely religious/emotional.

Not without a million bucks worth of medical assistance.

Are they both as retarded as you?

Probably, but I too have felt the urge to question that at some points.

I'm sure we have all known someone, who when you found out they had kids, you had a gut reaction of amazement/concern.

Are women aborting goat fetuses or human fetuses? Claiming there is no difference over nouns and adjectives is bizarre.

The laws in some States give legal status and human rights from a divided human egg clear through to human fetus.

Give your bloody head a shake and read. If you don't understand what you are reading get an Oxford English dictionary.

Like so.

Ala. Code § 13A-6-1*(2006)*defines "person," for the purpose of criminal homicide or assaults, to*include an unborn child in utero at any stage of development, regardless of viability and specifies that nothing in the act shall make it a crime to perform or obtain an abortion that is otherwise legal

That one opens up something uglier than a can of smashed as$holes.

How on earth did you get that from what I wrote? I have written numerous posts for you trying to explain the big difference between using human as an adjective or a noun.

It is a human(adjective) fetus does not equal the fetus is a human(noun). Get it?

What relevance does Alabama law have to this discussion of Canadian laws?

I thought you were talking about the right to control your own body, which was, incidentally, what I was talking about. That right doesn't go away when you've made a bad choice.

I wouldn't count on it, you can even lose that right if you make too bad of a choice. -:)

I love Petros, don't get me wrong, but his posting style is free-association. You spent most of your time figuring out what the hell he's saying.
this is not a comment on Petros per se
for me, life is too short for guessing, thus I don't any more... when a post is just nuance or just a posted link, I go right on past...

if one can not be clear about one's meaning,if one can not be bothered to communicate, I'm not biting the bait... to me the sole purpose is to be cryptic and demeaning, I am not wasting my time "interpreting"

when I posted this very comment a while ago the response was something about laughing at others who wouldn't play their game...at least that was my interpretation of their unclear answer ...

the other thing you will notice is little asides to support the unsupportable...you know like...wow, aren't they stupid not to get our deep clever posts...

Well said. Ad hominem posts are a real turn off and detract from the intent of the site which is the exchange of ideas, not epithets.
