It is your personal version of the truth, that is my point. We all have our own truths and the collective opinion in Canada right now is your truth is false.I don't give a rats a$$ if people get "angry" for me stating the obvious and the truth.
In Canada the majority favor some limits on abortion. Yet we cannot have a reasoned debate not only in Canada but in some cases on this very thread. If abortion of late term viable healthy children does not occur then what is the issue with enacting this as law.
If it did ocurr the majority would be disgusted. And the possibility will always exist that it will occur.
And please do not give me the slippery slope argument.
Ethics do change.
The comment was about sex selection, not late term abortions.
Exactly what do you want the government to do about sex selective abortions?
When it comes to late term abortions, it is simply a waste of time for the government to pass laws against things that are not an issue.
All it would possibly do is make it harder for doctors to care for their patients if there is a medical emergency late in pregnancy.
The only real benefit is to people who want to flaunt their moral superiority for political gain.
How does this make it more difficult. It does not.
Moral superiority really. So you must consider abortion to be morally repugnant?
This is not about political beliefs as those that support some restrictions cross all political lines and religious beliefs, and not to be forgotten are Atheists and Agnostics who also support some restrictions.
seems to me like killing an innocent unborn baby is um...let's see, cowardly. yeah, cowardly.
I could be wrong though.
What is "cowardly" about it?
you don't think that is a legitimate question?you're a silly little askhole.

I think that because there are people who think they have a right to impose their moral or ethical principles on others, that that is grounds enough to justify abortions. .
Not sure if I'd go quite that far, but it sure doesn't take a lot of character, what with all the folks looking to adopt! Life is precious.
Legitimate questions and BumFluff are like oil and water.

It is estimated there are between 143 million and 210 million orphans worldwide (recent UNICEF report.) The UNICEF orphan numbers DON’T include abandonment (millions of children) as well as sold and/or trafficked children. The current population of the United States is just a little over 300 million… to give you an idea of the enormity of the numbers… According to data released in 2003 as many as eight million boys and girls around the world live in institutional care. Some studies have found that violence in residential institutions is six times higher than violence in foster care, and that children in group care are almost four times more likely to experience sexual abuse than children in family based care.
Every day 5,760 more children become orphans
Approximately 250,000 children are adopted annually, but…
Each year 14, 505, 000 children grow up as orphans and age out of the system by age sixteen
Each day 38,493 orphans age out
Every 2.2 seconds another orphan ages out with no family to belong to and no place to call home
Studies have shown that 10% – 15% of these children commit suicide before they reach age eighteen
These studies also show that 60% of the girls become prostitutes and 70% of the boys become hardened criminals
Another study reported that of the 15,000 orphans aging out of state-run institutions every year, 10% committed suicide, 5,000 were unemployed, 6,000 were homeless and 3,000 were in prison within three years…
An estimated 1.2 million children are trafficked every year; (THE STATE OF THE WORLD’S CHILDREN 2005)
2 million children, the majority of them girls, are sexually exploited in the multibillion-dollar commercial sex industry. (THE STATE OF THE WORLD’S CHILDREN 2005)
