Who did Chris murder? Names, addresses and dates please!

Here is a Readers Digest version, with pictures, to entertain you about the horror show that was Chris the mass murderer:

And for a more in depth look:

Once again, it's time to celebrate Columbus Day. Yet, the stunning truth is: If Christopher Columbus were alive today, he would be put on trial for crimes against humanity. Columbus' reign of terror, as documented by noted historians, was so bloody, his legacy so unspeakably cruel, that Columbus makes a modern villain like Saddam Hussein look like a pale codfish.

I'm pretty sure he may be referring to the diseases that the native Americans had no natural immunities to fight off among other things.

although Columbus never did actually set foot in north America if memory serves me.

Here's an account of Columbus' first (of four) voyages to America.

I think the old bugger took some syphilis back to Europe, which might be what Cliffy is referring to. (There was probably no cure for it in those days but I wouldn't say that is Chris' fault.

Hard to say. I've read some on the history of it but like all history writers you always wonder if there is a little embellishing going on. I think it's human nature to lean toward exaggeration . I enjoyed Kenneth C Davis book on this and other things about American history. Davis does agree with Cliffy though, Columbus,,according to him,,,was not a nice person.

Maybe old Chris figured fame was more important than popularity. :)

Briefly, in Florida, at the very end of his last voyage. He thought it was another island and moved on.

What a fool. Two continents in front of him, and he "discovers" a handful of islands. In four voyages. And this guy's a hero why, exactly?

Perhaps the more important issue is he proved the world is round, if in fact he did that! :) (I think people with an I.Q. of 5 or more already had that figured out)

I think Jesus told him to do it.

Yaysuse to him I guess! :) :) Did Jesus speak Italian?
