Actually, the US Rangers have recently lowered their standards for women to join. I only have one problem with women in combat roles and it has nothing to do with whether they're capable because several of them have already proven they are. It's what happens to them if they get captured that's the problem.
Likely any woman serving and in active combat roles knows exactly what could happen to them.
They made the choice.
And like any tortured and traumatized person, if they're released society and Government SHOULD be there to ensure they can recover as best they can.
The focus shouldn't be how men or women would handle things if captured, but rather, how society and Government treats them when they come home. THAT is way more worrisome.
