To me it's all about age appropriateness.

In Ontario you have to be 16 years old to drive a car...18 to vote...19 to legally drink...etc. The system needs to set an age threshold where you start engaging children in schools about LGBTQ. What age that would be...I'm not too sure. Perhaps 14 years of age?

And what about kids who know as early as 5 or 6 that know they're "different"? Leave them to deal with it? Ask anyone who knew that young they were different/GLBTQIA+ and when you compare stories of not being able to be out vs. those who had support, you know why that early acceptance and "doing something about it" (which does NOT mean denial, conversion therapy or punishment to the kid if they are not "normal"), you see why there's this focus on kids.

The issue is, coming out as GLBTQIA+ is a fundamental part of a person's personality, psychology, and adverse dealings with it can warp that person for life, not just childhood.

So this accounts for what? Probably less than 0.1% of the population. `Kids just don't need to know some things until they are older.

They may realize they are different, which is fine. But at age 5-6 years old, do you really believe they think they are 'sexually different'?

You're assuming this is about sex.

It's not.

Gender is not sex, and yes, they know they're different, in as much as "I don't like girl/boy" things, which varies depending on the gender. Now sure, some kids grow out of it, some kids just prefer the opposite gender stuff (hell, I loved Transformers and GI Joe as a kid, and the My Little Pony I got? Cavalry mounts for the latter), but for some kids, it's a serious, real issue. And when you get kids that age asking parents "When can I have a baby" unprompted, and they have a penis... well that's telling right there, IMO.

So this accounts for what? Probably less than 0.1% of the population. `Kids just don't need to know some things until they are older.

But they already KNOW these things.

And it doesn't matter if it's less than .1%; which might not be actual percentage; it depends where in the world you are and if someone feels safe to answer that they're GLBTQIA+. I mean, in the US alone GLBTQIA+ is up 7.1% as of 2022. You think in repressive areas like Uganda and others anyone who is part of the group is going to out themselves? Hell no!

So, .1%? Yeah, maybe not so much. If you break it down into the different groups specifically, *maybe*... but maybe not.

Like most people who are in a tizzy, you are out assuming that as soon as a 5 or 6 year old mentions that they don't feel like the gender they are, people are pushing for them to lop off body parts, throw them into HRT and so on. That's NOT the case, but no matter how many damn times it's said, you keep believing it.

Which is why issues like PRIDE will keep existing despite y'all hating it.

So, there's people who throw out the whole "Oh but what about the de-transitioners"...

Okay, What about them?

So I wonder... all this misinformation from the person in the tiktok; apparently they are a true de-transitioner but they have lots of personal issues going on, so... because their life wasn't immediately "happy", they now want to blame their transitioning, and lie about things?

Or is the state of transitioning in the US THAT BAD compared to other countries that patients aren't being told the things they should (which isn't a thing all across the US since there are families/kids who get gender affirming care and are getting GOOD GAC...).

In any case, I feel sorry for this person for having such a horrible experience, but just because they had a horrible one, does NOT mean that all trans people will have horrible transitions. And some trans people may not transition at all (full transition anyway).

Sadly the transphobes hook onto people like them and use them to prove their points, only it doesn't.
