Obama Mocks Trump: 'He Missed Civics Lesson About Slavery and Jim Crow'

"I don’t know about you guys, but I am so relieved that the whole birther things is over,” the president said, smiling. “In other breaking news, the world is round, not flat.”

"Did Clinton not just start the birther movement but back it wholeheartedly by being "all in"?

The paper trail

The allegation about Obama’s birthplace tracks back to the bruising 2008 Democratic primary between Obama and Clinton. According to a Telegraph article, as early as April 2008, a Clinton supporter passed around an email that questioned where Obama was born.

"Barack Obama’s mother was living in Kenya with his Arab-African father late in her pregnancy," it said. "She was not allowed to travel by plane then, so Barack Obama was born there and his mother then took him to Hawaii to register his birth."

However, in an email statement to McClatchy, James Asher explains that upon meeting with Blumenthal, he dispatched a reporter to Kenya to research the claim made by the controversial Democratic operative who had previously been best known for spreading rumors that Monica Lewinsky had stalked Bill Clinton.

"During the 2008 Democratic primary, Sid Blumenthal visited the Washington Bureau of McClatchy Co.," said Asher. "During the meeting, Mr. Blumenthal and I met together in my office and he strongly urged me to investigate the exact place of President Obama’s birth, which he suggested was Kenya. We assigned a reporter to go to Kenya, and that reporter determined that the allegation was false."

Trump gets skewered, Clinton finds support at TV's Emmy awards

As the U.S. presidential election draws near, television's stars didn't hold back on their opinions at Sunday's Emmy awards, some taking jabs at Republican nominee Donald Trump while others voiced support for Democratic hopeful Hillary Clinton.

During his opening monologue, Emmy host Jimmy Kimmel called out producer Mark Burnett, the producer of reality series "The Apprentice" and "Celebrity Apprentice" which Donald Trump hosted, saying "who is to blame for the Trump phenomenon? That guy."

"If Donald Trump gets elected and he builds that wall, the first person we are throwing over it is Mark Burnett," Kimmel said, setting the political tone of the show 50 days before America elects its next president.

Trump, known for his rapid-fire responses on Twitter, had nothing to say about the Emmys on Sunday night.

You realize that this means he screwed over everyone who did any work for any of the companies that went bankrupt, right?

You think this is something to be proud of?
At least it's legal as opposed to much of what Mrs. Clinton has done.

Do we know that for sure?

Slavery and the death penalty used to be legal in most states.

Isn't the death penalty still legal in most states......................at least in the south? Aren't there cases where the death penalty is warranted?

Okay, so you think that when the various companies went bankrupt, they paid off all creditors in full? Then what was the point of the bankruptcy? Do you understand the concept?

By the way, if you do any research, you can read about several small businesses that lost hundreds of thousands of dollars because of Trump bankruptcies.

While I doubt that he intentionally went bankrupt, I wonder if the word "screwed" is appropriate?
