So, these folks have the option to leave the factory life and relocate back to the agri community to which they are familiar.

Sounds to me like these folks have a readily available choice they can access if/when the working conditions become intolerable

Pretty narrow point of view! Everyone has to start out at a point where they don't know anything. A decent employer will tell the new employee that after the first week/month/year his wage scale is up to him/her.

And that's exactly what I'm saying. Showing up on time, working hard, going out of your way to be extra professional will pay off eventually. I
That's all in your control. If your not showing up on time. You suck at your job, you don't follow instructions properly. Then yes you need to assume responcibility that all you'll ever make is minimum wage.

If your still at minimum wage after years of working your a$$ off then it's on you to wake the fuke up and find a job that has a potential future.

Or you can stay a victim all your life and yes you deserve your minimum wage cause your a big pushover

My narrow point of view? Assuming responsibility of your life is a narrow point of view?

You must be a none white none male. One of those less dominating of us that needs the government to step in and intervene on your behalf cause your too much of a big wet noodle to do it on your own.

Anyone who decides to get there thumbs out there asses and decides to assum responcibility of themselves and works hard everyday has no reason to be making minimum wage. Lazy people on the other hand

I think one thing a person can do that in most cases will help a lot is figuring out ways to make a $ for the boss, if he has any decency at all he'll pass a nickel or dime of it back to you!

I believe the government both federal and provincial would be better positioned to offer severely discounted training/diplomas/certs etc in trades and in-demand jobs (System Admins, Business Analysts, Database Admins).

Twenty thousand dollars per annum is still below poverty, we should be training people to get out of these dead end jobs, not retain them.

I'm guess there is several thousand people across the country if they work enough hours to honestly earn $20 grand it would be a huge step up for them! -:)

A step up from what, 16-17 grand? What defines "honestly" anyway? I suspect you are lumping in welfare users with minimum wage workers.

No.... Actually it's because you read like you're dumb as a post and don't deserve anything better than grunt work and bullshyte.

I haven't moved any farther west than just east of Sudbury. Bus even stops here if you want to come by and kiss my butt better

I'll give you a little hint there, Angstrom..................given your grammar, spelling and punctuation calling someone an idiot, makes you a little suspect. -:)
