Hmmm....a Macho Muscle Car that might be purchased for $10,000 or less??? Tough one.

Actually, as far as power to weight goes (on a budget), it's tough to beat a motorcycle. Say
something Japanese (usually means fairly reliable) and used (cheaper) and avoid anything
wrapped in fiberglass (those tend to be used as missiles by wanna be test pilots), and you
might find something powerful and light and cheap. A young man could afford to keep the
tank full too.

In a year and a half I'll be able to get my driver's license, and I'm already saving up for a car, and seeing as I'm trying to get the whole macho-image going, I was wondering what is the most masculine car of all time?

Get an old van and spray paint it flat black. Scribble some anarchy signs and whatever flash art on it. Throw an old mattress in the back. It screams you have balls, you don't give a f**k but you know how to. You'll impress the girls and scare their fathers. That's what it's all about. Never lose sight of that.

And some new wheels ,a headlight ,numberplate ,a side window, nothing $10,000 or less wouldn't fix.lol

I really like that car actually. I wouldn't change much on it. I love a car I can play chicken with at intersections; I guarantee I'd get to go first every time

For a young guy that car is very dangerous. He'd get laid waaaaaay too much.

Seriously... nice cars are good for catching wives, ratty old muscle cars are good for catching everything else.

Not to be a wet blanket or anything, it's your first car. You're learning to drive so get something that will take the beating you are going to give it. Though it's hard to put practicality before desire, you should buy a beater to get you from a to b that's cheap on gas and reliable.

Once done, buy an old classic muscle car, tear it apart and rebuild it to suit your taste and wants. In doing so, you will give yourself an education. By the time you are done, you will have a much better idea of what you want out of life and the girls, well there won't be a problem in getting them to hang around. ;)

Here's a pic of mine.

To the OP, I guess it depends on what kind of "Macho" you're looking for.

Are you into the newer "Street Racer" car style:

Or are you into the Muscle Cars:

Or are you into the exotics:

To me personally, I like them all, but when it comes to style, price and power, I like my Tiburons (See first image)

Big Lou.... be realistic. Above all else, what's most macho, is a car that doesn't make a potential girlfriend think you're compensating for something. A car that won't break down and make her late for curfew and get her in trouble. A car that doesn't stink inside like old rotting upholstery. A car that runs quiet enough and efficiently enough that you can afford to keep it running for a late night winter makeout session and still hear what she's whispering in your ear. Overall, go for reliability and function that meets your budget. Anything else just screams 'little boy trying to act like a man'. Trust me. Save the muscle car for once your virility and manliness is already an established fact. It will likely fit within your budget way better then.

Hmm...so what you're saying is once everyone knows I'm Mr. Masculine then I can pull off a muscle car?

Remember.... Corvette, Ferarri, Lamborghini - the rich boy toys - will attract the gals you don't want. The smart ones know it means too much money, too much car, too little penis

In my estimation, the early Porche 911Ss were the most macho cars. I owned a 1966
911S and I think it was the most exciting car I ever owned even though it was twelve years old when I bought it. It could out-drag most cars on the road but it demanded attention. The car was noisy as hell and if you came off the throttle abruptly in a corner, you could end up backing into the ditch at forty miles an hour. The famous/infamous Porche oversteer probably killed a few people. You had to treat it with a lot of respect. I loved the car but at the time, the women in my life hated it.
In 1979 I bought the car for $12,000.00....It had 75,000 miles on it. It looked as new as the car below without the mag wheels.

I had a '69 AMC Javelin S/O (special order) 343 with Carter AFB and Muncie 4 speed - all factory. It ate Cameros for breakfast, Mustangs for lunch and flossed it's teeth with Mopar (except those diobolical HEMIs) The only thing it couldn't beat was rust

This was my car in the early '80's. I don't know what I was compensating for but I sure enjoyed the ride.
