'Provocative' Clinton angers Iran

Tehran has complained to the UN about remarks made last week by Hillary Clinton on the circumstances under which the US might attack Iran.
The Democratic presidential hopeful said last week the US could "totally obliterate" Iran if it attacked Israel.
Tehran, which insists its nuclear programme is solely for power generation, denounced her words as "provocative and irresponsible".
It said the remarks were "a flagrant violation" of the UN Charter.
.......... Tehran is facing tougher UN sanctions for refusing to suspend uranium enrichment.
The US fears Iran is trying to acquire nuclear weapons, and could use them against Israel.
Iran insists its nuclear programme is solely for power generation.

Actually they wouldn't. There is a report from the Department of Homeland Defense which outlines the perils of a first strike HEMP (High-altitude ElectroMagnetic Pulse) attack. During the cold war days you would have been correct but since then the USA has been cutting costs by purchasing "off the shelf" electronics instead of making their own properly shielded equipment. The DOD states that determining who even launched the attack would be impossible as would any retaliation due to system vulnerabilities.

You may be correct, but I doubt that they would make every weapon that they have known to the general public.

Ok.... so Israel attacks Syria, Israel talks about attacking Iran, Iran talks about attacking Israel if they're attacked by Israel, then the US comes along and says they'll attack Iran if Iran attacks Israel, and then Russia will attack the US if the US attacks Iran, then the US attacks Russia because Russia attacked them, then China attacks the US because they attacked Iran and Russia, then the UK attacks China because China attacked the US, then by that time, North Korea will have their nukes back up and nuke the UK for attacking China.......

And you want us to jump into this mess and be a target of this continual nuclear holocaust?

Under Bush's publicly spoken policy the US will attack anybody even if Israel starts the conflict.
That wouldn't be any different under any President, and the fact of the matter is, if you don't publicly state that kind of support for Israel you have a 0% chance of being set-up in the WH, Obama would, and probably has, say the exact same thing.

As for hiding out in a shelter, just how many thousands of years would you plan on staying down there? If you came out any earlier there is still going to be radiation (assuming a lot of nukes get tossed around) so that could kill you even before you had any new children. If you were to have children your first question would be the same as Iraqi women ask today, it isn't is a a boy or a girl, the question is always "Is it normal?"

It only sounds stupid to us DL because we assume ethics to be cardinal values accross the human spectrum. some years ago I read that Mrs. Clinton is half-jewish. If that fact has anything to do with her fervor to defend and revenge Israel I wouldn't know.

Yes, I did expect more human compassion from her. If one nation gets obliterated WHY obliterate another one in return??? Where is the love of humanity, the care for all the little children who will be obliterated as well?? That lack of human quality in her disappoints me!! Especially being a woman who by nature is a nurturer, has softer feelings, is overall more compassionate and kind... she could turn the world around, she could make a difference!!! Yet, she blows her opportunity by trying to hold it with the big guys, be as ruthless and tough as they are.
