To live in peace without constantly being attacked by their neighbours? Are you going to come back with a definition of who the “real” Jews are? Just curious…
Maybe that's why it's the real Jews who are pushing the 2 States but are the minority being screwed by the nationalist secular Revisionist terrorists.

Secular Jews aren't Jews the same way there aren't secular Catholics, Buddhists or Hindus.

What do you think a Jew is?
Sorry, never met one that identified as one, so I’m on the outside of that, & I’m not the one dividing Jews from “Real” Jews, so I’m still waiting for your definition.

I wouldn’t know a Jewish person from anyone else (& probably the reason I think I haven’t met one though I probably have), so I’m not the one sub-categorizing without defining what that means.

What’s a Jew vs a “Real” Jew anyway?

What is a secular Jew? Judaism is a religion. If they ain't part of the religion they are not a Jew.

Same way Secular Catholics or Secular Hindus don't exist.

While religion plays a significant role in Israeli society, a substantial portion of the population, including a large percentage of Israeli Jews, identify as secular or not religious.

Here's a more detailed breakdown:

Secular Identity:
In 2022, 45% of Israeli Jews self-identified as "secular," while 10% identified as ultra-orthodox (Haredi).

Traditional Religious Worship:
33% of Israeli Jews over the age of 20 practice "traditional" religious worship.

Religious Identity:
12% of Israeli Jews identify as religious or orthodox, including religious Zionists.

Arab Israelis:
Among Arab Israelis, a significant majority are Muslims, with smaller percentages identifying as Druze or Christian.

Complex Jewish Identity:
Jewish identity in Israel is a complex blend of religious and ethnonational identity, with many secular Jews seeing themselves as Israeli first and Jewish second.

Irreligion:
Some 20% of Israeli Jews do not believe in a deity, and some 15% claim to observe no religious practices.

Zionism:
The Zionist movement, which led to the creation of the state of Israel, was predominantly secular and focused on granting Jews the capacity to be masters of their own fate.

Hmn.... Jews making an enemies list of Jews because one side doesn't agree with the other side.

And banning them from Israel.

So much for "All Jews support Israel!"

Canada pledges nearly $100M for Palestinians in Gaza, West Bank

OTTAWA — The federal Liberals are announcing nearly $100 million in humanitarian relief and governance support for Palestinians, days before a widely expected election.

Foreign Affairs Minister Melanie Joly, who took on the file of international development last week, is announcing funding for major agencies working in the occupied Palestinian territories.

The announced funding includes $30 million for recovery and governance support in the West Bank, where there has been escalating violence between Israeli troops and local militants and what Ottawa calls “significant displacement.”

Ottawa says it’s also sending nearly $45 million for healthcare, food and shelter for Palestinians, particularly in the Gaza Strip where a ceasefire has ended between Israel and Hamas.

A quarter of the funding will also go toward security programming, particularly relating to landmines, and the funds will flow through agencies like the United Nations, World Bank and Red Cross.

Canada has been calling on Israel to stop restricting humanitarian aid from reaching Gaza, calling the situation “not sustainable,” while Israel blames Hamas militants for violence and aid seizures.

The federal Liberals have faced widespread criticism from Jewish and Arab groups for statements around the Israel-Hamas war, especially in the past week.
Well Hamas will be happy with our contributions - Palestinians not so much as they'll likely receive little if anything from it. Isn't that great? Canada supporting terrorists!!

What do secular Buddhists get reincarnated to?Automobiles, potato pancakes, spare tires?
That’s a really good question. I’m kinda on the outside of this religion thing. What do secular Buddhists get reincarnated as/to?

Still on the outside of the religion thing…
What is a Jew?
Good question. What is a Jew, vs a “real” Jew & other subcategories?
If someone says they’re gay, I don’t need to know if they’re a “real” gay & if so what of the 72-ish categories or subcategories they must slot into, but maybe it’s because I’m on the outside of that gay thing too just like I’m on the outside of the religion thing.

This “secular” qualification added before a religion means what to you? That someone isn’t Buddhist enough to be Buddhist (?) or is a different flavour of Buddhist? Sort of like Buddhist-Lite? Still refreshing but less filling?

Microsoft workers say they’ve been fired after 50th anniversary protest

A pro-Palestinian demonstrator
A pro-Palestinian demonstrator is escorted away by security as they interrupt Microsoft AI CEO Mustafa Suleyman during a presentation of the company's AI assistant, Copilot, ahead of a 50th Anniversary presentation at Microsoft headquarters, Thursday, March 14, 2024, in Redmond, Wash.
Microsoft has fired two employees who interrupted the company’s 50th anniversary celebration to protest its work supplying artificial intelligence technology to the Israeli military, according to a group representing the workers.

Microsoft didn’t immediately respond to a request for comment Monday.

The protests began Friday when Microsoft software engineer Ibtihal Aboussad walked up to a stage where an executive was announcing new product features and a long-term vision for Microsoft’s AI ambitions.

“You claim that you care about using AI for good but Microsoft sells AI weapons to the Israeli military,” Aboussad shouted at Microsoft AI CEO Mustafa Suleyman. “Fifty-thousand people have died and Microsoft powers this genocide in our region.”

The protest forced Suleyman to pause his talk, which was livestreamed from Microsoft’s campus in Redmond, Washington. Among the participants at the 50th anniversary of Microsoft’s founding were co-founder Bill Gates and former CEO Steve Ballmer.

“Thank you for your protest, I hear you,” Suleyman said. Aboussad continued, shouting that Suleyman and “all of Microsoft” had blood on their hands. She also threw onto the stage a keffiyeh scarf, which has become a symbol of support for Palestinian people, before being escorted out of the event.

A second protester, Microsoft employee Vaniya Agrawal, interrupted a later part of the event.

Aboussad was invited on Monday to a video call with a human resources representative at which she was told she was being terminated immediately. Agrawal was notified over email, according to the advocacy group No Azure for Apartheid, which has protested the sale of Microsoft’s Azure cloud computing platform to Israel.

An investigation by The Associated Press revealed earlier this year that AI models from Microsoft and OpenAI had been used as part of an Israeli military program to select bombing targets during the recent wars in Gaza and Lebanon. The story also contained details of an errant Israeli airstrike in 2023 that struck a vehicle carrying members of a Lebanese family, killing three young girls and their grandmother.

In February, five Microsoft employees were ejected from a meeting with CEO Satya Nadella for protesting the contracts.

“We provide many avenues for all voices to be heard,” said a statement from the company Friday. “Importantly, we ask that this be done in a way that does not cause a business disruption. If that happens, we ask participants to relocate. We are committed to ensuring our business practices uphold the highest standards.”

Microsoft had declined to say Friday whether it was taking further action. Aboussad told the AP she lost access to her work accounts shortly after the protest and had not been able to log back in.

Dozens of Google workers were fired last year after internal protests surrounding a contract that the technology company has with the Israeli government. Employee sit-ins at Google offices in New York and Sunnyvale, California were targeting a $1.2 billion deal known as Project Nimbus providing AI technology to the Israeli government.

The Google workers later filed a complaint with the National Labor Relations Board in an attempt to get their jobs back.

There are no secular Buddhists no secular Hindus no secular Catholics or secular Jews.

But there are real Buddhists real Hindus real Catholics and real Jews.

Oddly enough none of them are races either.
