B.C. school district investigates exam asking pupils to argue if Israel should exist

BURNABY, B.C. — The school district in Burnaby, B.C., has launched an investigation into what it says was a harmful exam that asked students to make arguments about whether Jewish people deserve or need a homeland.

The question was posed by a teacher to Grade 6 and 7 students in an elementary social studies exam.

The district says in a statement that the question stated that “some believe that Jewish people deserve or need a homeland (Israel), while others believe that Israel should not exist.”

District Supt. Karim Hachlaf says in the statement that regardless of the intention, the question is deeply concerning and could be trauma-inducing for students, especially Jewish children.

The district says the family of one of the students raised the concern by sending an email to the district with the exam question.

In addition to the investigation, the district says it will reach out to families in the classroom and the Jewish community to determine what additional supports are needed, and it will work with administrators to reinforce use of appropriate learning resources within its schools.
Either the majority of BC teachers are Jew haters, or the ones that are have intimidated the Israel supporters into silence. For sure the union leadership is made up of Jew Haters

A Global Economic Boycott of Israel Gains Traction, but the Government Has No Answers

The world is losing patience with Israel's conduct in the Gaza war and taking steps – restricting exports, canceling professional confabs, backing down on planned business transactions and so on. Local consumers will suffer

The current Israeli government doesn't have a single accomplishment to its credit, only a long series of failures and damage inflicted on every possible front: diplomatic, security, economic and social. When the prime minister, the finance minister and the economy minister are asked what they are doing, say, to curb the appalling cost of living, they mumble something about the "what's good for Europe is good for Israel" reform, which will make it possible to rely on European standards without subjecting goods imported from the Continent to a bureaucratic Via Dolorosa.

Bibi doesn’t care about hostages (even the ones spotting) or civilians
Ok.
even if Israelis are prepared to burn down the Knesset with him in it.
So that’s why they’re worried/concerned about the phrasing of the American resolution something something…?

How come the Ukraine & Russia haven’t settled upon borders on their current military positions, and become duet singers of Kumbaya a cappella style?

Condemning one, but not the other. Sounds about right.

No matter the path brought forth by G7 or UNSC they all lead to the formation of the Nation of Palestine. Its no longer an "if" or "maybe".

Holocaustages have been offered up several times. Bibi cant swallow the fact it ends with a loss and sanctions.

Palestine declared their freedom from Israel and theyre going to get it.

Phrasing is important. People will always "interpret" language in the way that benefits their short-term goals, but careful phrasing can make it tougher, and give the edge to the drafter.

Every war is different. Can't say I blame Ukraine. What would your position be if somebody grabbed a chunk of Canada? Me, I'm the "every square centimeter" type. But that's just me.

Because every war is different, one can honestly condemn one but not the other. History and geopolitics is hard.

The US has told Israel it must be fully "transparent" over an air strike that reportedly killed at least 35 people at a central Gaza school packed with displaced people on Thursday morning.

Is the US demanding that Hamas also must be fully “transparent” over why there were any Hamas (& Friends) militants in the UNRWA school building at all (?) be it 40 or 30 or 20 or 2?

Local journalists told the BBC a warplane had fired two missiles at classrooms on the top floor of the school in the Nuseirat urban refugee camp.

The Israeli military said it had conducted a "precise" strike on a "Hamas compound" in the school, but Gaza’s Hamas-run government media office denied the claim. How about that? Two sides to a propaganda war?

The US called on Israel to identify publicly the Hamas fighters it said it had killed - just as the Israeli military gave the names of nine of them.

Israel frequently identifies militants it targets in air strikes but it is rare for the US to urge it to do so.

The Israelis “told us there were 20 to 30 militants they were targeting [and] they’re going to release the names of those they believe they’ve killed, those militants”, US state department spokesperson Matthew Miller said.
In a near-simultaneous news briefing, Israeli army spokesperson Daniel Hagari gave the names of nine Hamas and Islamic Jihad fighters he said had been killed in the strike. He said more would be identified after work to “verify the information”.

In Washington, Mr Miller said the US has seen reports that 14 children were killed in the strike.

They are transparent. Thats why IDF couldnt see any women or children after "visually confirming" a Hamas presence.

Why in the last standing building? Safety?

Qatar threatened to deport Hamas' leaders if the organization rejected President Biden's cease-fire proposal, CNN reported. Netanyahu's government said "the time is not yet ripe" to appoint a state commission of inquiry into October 7 and the Gaza war. War cabinet minister Benny Gantz is set to announce his resignation from Netanyahu's government in a press conference on Saturday night. The U.K.'s Labour party is reportedly expected to include a pledge to recognize a Palestinian state in its election manifesto. U.S. State Secretary Blinken will visit Israel on Monday, a U.S. official said.

It is really time to wind this goat rodeo down. Get it over and done with, then let the Mossad do what they do, and quietly hunt the Hamas leadership into extinction from the shadows & the background.
Mossad has been tits deep in Hamas all along. They know what's up and what's down.

Remarkably unstable and accident-prone machines, helos. . .
My son used to pick up helicopters in California, he wasn't the pilot, he was the tech, and they would fly them back to Petawawa, near Ottawa. He would send me pictures as they flew over the Rockies and I held my breath every time. Freaked me out. Glad he pulled the pin after 20.

UN: The UN Secretary General has informed Israel of its decision to add the country to a blacklist of countries that harm children in conflict zones, according to Israel's UN ambassador Gilad Erdan, who called the decision "disgraceful."
  • PM Netanyahu called the decision "preposterous," adding that "the UN has put itself today on the blacklist of history, when it joined those who support the Hamas murderers. The IDF is the world's most moral army."

Thems fightin' words.

Propaganda from both the red & blue teams. Somehow, coordinated celebrations and anti-Israel protests where already happening October 8th 2024…Both Israel & Iran are trying to influence western (& others) media.

Yep…there’s an impartial entity. Oh well, they’re also calling out Hamas somewhat too, but that’s not mentioned above:
I’ve tried to find a comprehensive list of everyone on this list…but I’m coming up dry…but was looking out’a curiosity.

WEST BANK: Dozens of settlers entered a Palestinian village near the city of Nablus, fired shots in the air, torched cars and olive trees and attempted to set fire to houses, an IDF source told Haaretz. Palestinian reports also said settlers set fire to houses and cars near the village of Beitin.
