What a drag man.....

Supporters of drag camp for kids rally outside Vancouver theatre after reports of threats against staff

Supporters of a drag camp for kids gathered outside a theatre in Vancouver's Granville Island Tuesday after event organizers said they were targeted by threats.

Carousel Theatre For Kids is hosting a summer camp that lets children use "drag as a tool for artistic creation," according to a statement from IATSE Local 118 (International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees of the United States and Canada).

According to the union, the theatre staff and members have been "bombarded with hateful messages" and have faced "threats of physical violence."

It called on members to gather outside the theatre on Tuesday, the first day of the four-day camp, to present a "united front against those who would do harm to anyone in our theatre community."

According to the theatre, the camp is open to kids in two age groups — seven to 11 and 12 to 17 — with an interest in expressing themselves through clothing, makeup and performance.

IATSE said a group called Action4Canada had come to the theatre presenting "bogus legal documents" and a petition with thousands of signatures.

In an email to CBC News, Action4Canada shared a notice of liability that the group said is "not a legal document at this point," but aims to inform theatre management of potential liability.

"In this case it is both unlawful to sexually exploit children and is causing them harm," said the email.

Legal experts have questioned the value of notices of liability, with one University of British Columbia law professor telling CBC News in 2021 that such documents appear to be nothing more than assertions of what someone believes the law to be.

The pinnacle....

That’s crazily awesome-ish? It’s sort of like what I was picturing last week between the transvestites & Muslims clashing in protest. Who takes whom to the human rights tribunal (?) or they will take each other?

I’m picturing something more like a Bonspiel of unlikely match-ups in the Octagon in Vegas. 😁

Musk vs Zuckerberg, a Muslim Protester Champion vs a Trans Champion, Justin Trudeau vs Lia Thomas, Dudley Doright vs Snidely Whiplash, Bond vs Archer, etc… & the winner in the end becomes the Canadian Minister of Heritage in charge of the CRTC…to protect Canadian values, etc…and…and they get their own Kevlar Sandwich board!!!
But that was soooo page 169 & June 23rd.

That's why Sask asks for a full psych review before anything.
The only issue there is who are doing the psych evaluations because a lot of them support harming our kids themselves. We have to be careful of people who 'CLAIM" to have our kids best interests at heart but who are they really? A lot of psychiatrists are supporting this garbage.

It's not private "clinic" that specializes in Trans and bills SaskHealth that's for sure.

Despite their differences, the fact remains that Muslims and the LGBTQ+ community share a common aspiration: the fundamental right to live their lives as they choose without fear of harm. It is something to remember as this controversy rumbles on. Muslims are making headlines as some of them protest against Pride activities in schools, but their fight really should be with the Ontario government.

It is Education Minister Stephen Lecce who ordered schools to celebrate Pride, which is considered a human rights issue. The school lessons in question were created by the government.

The controversy erupted when some parents objected to lessons on sexual education related to gender identity. Consequently, some Muslim parents in Ottawa and elsewhere in Ontario pulled their kids from school on June 1. In some Ottawa schools, about 40 to 60 per cent of these kids stayed away. Parents complained that their kids were being taught age-inappropriate lessons, targeted for being Muslim, or berated for not participating in Pride activities.

And then at the bottom of the above link, it says, “Next week: What happens when human rights collide.”

So before even watching the video, to those who are all for "Bathrooms for the sex you were born" types, you'd be okay with this guy going into a woman's bathroom?

But to the video itself... JFC.

Came across this tonight and... well this needs to be shared more.

The study suggests the 1 year IOC approved wait between transition hormones for trans women and them participating in sports may not be long enough to equal a fair playing field. Which, IMO, does make sense. But then that circles back to trans women in sports being allowed to take hormones earlier appropriate to transition. Trans men are a different story which I didn't expect to be.

Regardless, it's an interesting study.
