In your neck of the woods perhaps but i've never seen a 'divider' between urinals, and the problem with stalls is they usually don't go all the way to the ground and it's easy to slip a phone or the like under (which has happened and is often pointed to by those who would claim the potential for abuse is significant).

It's also been stated that a predator could hang around in the bathroom a bit till there's only one other person and then assault them.

In any case whether these are genuine concerns or not they may many women feel very uncomfortable and frightened, so obviously there's a little kick back. "It's all in your head" has never been a particularly effective counter argument to people's concerns.

If someone is that serious enough about attacking a woman in a bathroom, a prohibition against trans people ISN'T going to stop them, just as it doesn't stop them now. It'll happen regardless.

This is what it's always been about - male fear and incomprehension of why someone born with a dick would want to be 'female', but there is no male fear over someone born with a vagina wanting to be 'male'.

None of the bars in greater Vancouver, none of the restaurants i've been in, sooooo sounds like the ferries are the exceptions. When i stay in a hotel i tend to use the one in the room, but that's just me maybe.

Most modern establishments have them , you must not get out much , or maybe just go cheap . Even the larger McDonalds have them .

As to the restaurants, i'll take your word for it. I don't really eat at mcdonalds or gas stations too much, so i'm not really in a position to compare.

But if it makes you feel better, sure - i'm certain every single washroom out there now has big dividers between the urinals and has since the pope declared it to be cannoical law and the feds mandated it after an intense lobbying campaign by McDonalds. (actually the feds thing wouldn't entirely surprise me). So there you go

And as an adult my bladder just isn't that small, so i don't go nearly as much and usually have the luxury of picking where i go a bit more.
