Well, I dunno how many times I've stated very clearly that I have absolutely zero problem with abortion in cases of rape or genuine medical necessity. Maybe that's why you didn't get the reaction you idiotically believed you would in here. I think you'll find the large majority of those in here who are aren't pro-choice aren't 100% anti-abortion either. In fact, the only people I know that are abjectly against abortion for any reason tend to be a "tad" on the overly religious side.
When they come out with shit like "Pregnancy is God's will", I tell them "You better ban Viagra then because your limp dick is god's will too"
.
But when you decide to have an unprotected consensual hook-up, you made your choice. If the guy doesn't respect you enough to use protection, at least have enough fucking respect for yourself to use some ffs.
I can't believe it's 2022 and we STILL have to have "that talk" about birth control. Fuck!

Actually Jin, I will reply to this as it's made me think.

While the original comment was not meant for you (though it was rather broad/open ended so I guess it could be), what you said made me realize something.

You and others ARE pro-abortion, like honestly are. You are okay with abortions in truth.

As you said, very few are of the extreme to demand no abortion right at all.

You (and/or others) believe that even if life 'begins at conception', sometimes it IS okay to end that 'life'.

What you ARE is ANTI-choice. As in you are against a woman making a choice about her own body.

And in all truthfulness, if you aren't being hypocritical, you are being anti-WOMAN in the process.

Because even with your comment about "if the guy doesn't respect you enough.... respect yourself"... you are STILL putting all, every single bit of blame, on the woman involved.

As if men won't lie. As if men are somehow 'always' truthful to the women they have sex with. As if men will always respect a woman they have sex with. As if the man will ALWAYS use protection when he says he will...

As if birth control WON'T fail even if you follow the damned instructions to the letter. As if contraception is ALWAYS proof against pregnancy.

And this isn't to say women aren't guilty of lying about their status either, because they do.

But by your own words you STILL put this all on a woman.

The only TRUE way to prevent pregnancy is abstinence. But humans are animals; sex WILL happen at some point. Yet it is somehow always the WOMAN's fault if it does. And therein lies the true disgust of the "anti-choice" crowd; women are STILL not equal and all they are considered is vessels for carrying a fetus to term. That's it. At the base level, women are breeding machines meant for one thing and one thing alone and if they don't do that one thing, it's THEIR fault.

How about for your ilk of anti-woman, anti-choice types, taking and putting energies into actually getting MEN to keep THEIR parts in their pants in the first place, no matter HOW much a woman 'encourages him'. How about the MAN say no, and mean it, and it actually be OKAY for him to do so, instead of seen as somehow wrong of him to do so. Or that it makes him 'less' of a man.

And... while we're at it, with the SCOTUS ruling leaving an opening to look at contraception, and how volitile that subject is, the shock you feel that it needs to be talked about still in 2022, be put into demanding that it BE talked about even more, despite a person's religion or beliefs. Because apparently you fail to realize that many people STILL aren't allowed contraception, can't afford it, or have no clue what it is, what it does or anything along those lines. As well, how about taking that talk into the schools, starting at the grades kids are having sex - so grades 8-9 and above, and telling THEM about it, and telling THEM how it's okay to say no, and mean it, regardless of their gender.

In any event, thank you at least for pushing me to seriously think on the matter from a different angle. Good on you!

Too bad no babies are killed from abortions.
So when is it taxslave ? At the moment of conception or at the moment of birth ? Are you fine with perfectly viable fetuses begin ripped from the womb moments before natural birth ?

Birth. It is not a baby until outside the womb and breathing on its own. Although modern medicine in the last few decades has upped the survival rate significantly.
When, if ever, has an abortion been done just before a viable birth? Except a cesarean section.

C-sections violate Gawd's Will and the sanctity of the mother-child bond!

I don't know about the sanctity of mother-child bond, but there is at least anecdotal evidence that the bond is not the same as natural birth.

Good points. How bout we make it a hard-time felony to impregnate a woman without her specific consent (to impregnation, not to sex)?

While we're at it, how bout we make child-support delinquency a felony? And make child support half of the non-custodial parent's after-tax income, no exceptions?

So if 2 people have unprotected sex, you propose hard time for both?

This was your statement. How else would one get pregnant other than unprotected sex?
True. Same way we charge anyone who fires a gun with murder, regardless of whether anybody's killed or not.

I'd love to see rapists get automatic 20 years.

FALSE reports of rape get half that time. (cause yes, women do lie about rape)

Rape with a child is not only 20 years, BUT if a pregnancy results, the rapist pays for the abortion AND for every medical expense the child has to have to help deal with the after effects as well. ALSO immediate sterilization.

I'd go on but... likely this is enough for now. :p
