Not really! We have a large ethic minority in the N. Okanagan, the vast majority of which are as well behaved and in many cases better than the Caucasians!
Yeah really. I know exactly who you speak of. They are having problems with their girls being forced into prostitution and human trafficking thanks to local ethnic gangs. Do you think they are unarmed?

This is how it works, JLM. When you get an ethnic gang, you'll always have people who decide the problem is the ethnicity, not the gang.

Well, except when it's their ethnicity, of course.

Useful, successful gun control measures. . .

  1. Watch muzzle
Keep it pointed in a safe direction at all times. This is the PRIMARY rule of gun safety.
  2. Firearm respect
Treat every firearm with the respect due a loaded gun. It might be loaded, even if you think it isn’t.
  3. Target awareness
Know your target and what is in front of it and all around it. Check out your backstop. Don’t shoot at water, flat or hard surface.
  4. Trigger Guard
Keep your finger outside the trigger guard until ready to shoot which will prevent an accidental discharge. When holding a gun, rest your finger alongside the frame and outside the trigger guard. Until you are actually ready to fire, do not touch the trigger.
  1. Check your barrel and ammunition
Make sure the barrel and action are clear of obstructions, and carry only the proper ammunition for your firearm.
  2. Unload firearms
Make sure to unload firearms when not in use. Leave actions open, and carry firearms in cases and unloaded to and from the shooting area. If you do not know how to open the action or inspect the chamber(s), leave the gun alone and get help from someone who does.
  1. Point only when shooting
Point a firearm only at something you intend to shoot. Avoid any horseplay with a gun.
  2. Don’t jump, climb or run with a loaded firearm
Unload a firearm before you climb a fence or tree, or jump a ditch. Pull a firearm toward you by the butt, not the muzzle.
  1. Store firearms and ammunition separately
Store each in secured locations beyond the reach of children and careless adults.
  2. No alcohol around shooting
Avoid alcohol and mind-altering medicines or drugs before and during shooting.

Tragedy unfolded in North Carolina this week when a mother of five was “inadvertently” killed after her children found a loaded gun and one of them shot her, according to Fox 46.

Gabriel Alexis Henderson, 25, was pronounced dead at the scene and a child who was also shot was taken to hospital with injuries that were not considered life-threatening, according to police, the New York Daily Newsreported.

There was no word on what exactly happened, but a news release said detectives were at the scene quickly and it only involved the people inside. The oldest child was in the living room at the time of the shooting and did not see it.

Police said they found a small, semi-automatic handgun on the bed near the victim when they got there.

“We know that children are going to look at a gun and not be able to tell if it’s real or safe,” Capt. Jennifer Thompson told local news station Fox 46. “That’s why we talk about how important it is to be a good gun owner.”

Federal government confirms Bill C-21 targets airsoft
Sections of the Liberal firearm bill reclassifies replica firearm laws to outlaw airsoft guns

While gun crime continues to plague Canadians streets, the Federal government is moving ahead with plans to outlaw airsoft.

On Friday, the Department of Justice confirmed to the Sun that sections of Bill C-21, the Federal Liberals’ new gun legislation, specifically targets the ‘unregulated airguns’ category that’s currently exempt from regulation or prohibition.

“Despite posing the same public safety concerns, unregulated airguns that discharge projectiles at a velocity approximately between 366 and 500 fps and exactly resemble conventional regulated firearms, are not currently prohibited,” said spokesperson Ian McLeod.

“The measures the Government is proposing would address this gap by amending the Criminal Code to prohibit import, export or sale of the currently unregulated mid-velocity airgun firearms within Canada.”

Airguns that don’t exactly resemble firearms wouldn’t be impacted, he said.

Currently, airsoft guns fall under this ‘mid-velocity’ category as they are mandated to muzzle velocities of between 366 and 500 feet per second.

Airguns that fire projectiles faster than 500 feet per second must be registered as firearms.

“That confirms our worst fears,” said Matt Wasilewicz, who owns Canadian Airsoft Imports, an airsoft supply wholesaler.

He told the Sun on Thursday that the bill, should it be passed into law as-is, would shutter an entire industry overnight — instantly outlawing safe and vibrant a hobby enjoyed by hundreds of thousands of Canadians and closing thousands of businesses.

Canadian police services and military also regularly use airsoft as a safe and inexpensive training tool.

Airsoft is legal in most countries, with many requiring weapons to have orange tips or otherwise coloured in such a way that distinguishes them from the real thing.

Wasilewicz said the community would probably have been amiable to such changes to keep the hobby legal, had anybody been willing to ask.

“The government didn’t take any effort to consult anybody in our industry,” he said.

A petition to reverse the decision has so far garnered nearly 16,000 signatures.

U.S. airsoft pros fear Canada's looming ban will impact entire sport
Bill C-21 will revise the Criminal Code's definition of prohibited replica firearms to include airsoft

Canada’s plans to outlaw airsoft is garnering concern from across the border.

Known online as “Grounded,” John Graham is a U.S. army veteran and online influencer who said Canada makes a big impact on the sport — and American competitors stand to lose big if Canadian companies that sponsor them are forced out of business.

“Personally, I’ll lose a large airsoft contact in Canada that’s promoted my name and tags me on posts,” he said.

“And they lose a brand ambassador that promotes Canadian airsoft in the (United) States.”

Last week, Ottawa introduced new firearms legislation, Bill C-21, which contains paragraphs that redefines the Criminal Code definition of a prohibited replica to include airsoft guns, which — despite resembling real firearms — have always been legal to purchase and import.

Repeated requests for explanations from the Justice Department have gone unanswered, but a spokesperson on Monday confirmed the legislation would make most airsoft guns illegal to sell or import.

Aside from hobbyists, both military and law enforcement use airsoft as a realistic and low-risk training tool.

Many jurisdictions permit coloured airsoft guns which are easy to distinguish from real firearms.

Questions to the Justice Department about whether coloured airsoft guns will be exempt from the bill went unanswered.

A petition to reverse the ban has garnered nearly 27,000 signatures.

Even from his home base in southern California, professional airsoft competitor Dutch The Hooligan told the Toronto Sun he’s gravely concerned about Bill C-21.

“I can’t find a single good reason why airsoft guns should ever be banned,” he said.

A career airsoft competitor with more than one million subscriptions on his YouTube channel, he described the sport as a healthy and safe activity that promotes teamwork.

A second teen has been arrested in connection with a shooting earlier this month of a 14-year-old girl.

Police say a 16-year-old boy turned himself in at 31 Division on Monday in connection with the Feb. 12 shooting of Alyssa Driscoll, who police say was shot in the head after a firearm went off in an apartment at 25 Stong Court.

A 16-year-old suspect arrested on Monday faces numerous firearms charges, as well as two counts of failing to comply with a Youth Criminal Justice Act sentence and failure to comply with a release order.

Police haven’t elaborated on the circumstances behind the shooting.

The shooter and others fled the apartment.

Driscoll was rushed to the Hospital for Sick Children where she continues her recovery, suffering what police describe as ‘life-altering injuries.’

Two days after the shooting, a 17-year-old male was arrested by police, and faces aggravated assault, criminal negligence and firearms charges.

A Washington appeals court struck down an onerous local gun storage ordinance in a victory for Second Amendment activists, who pushed a state law designed to stop strict gun laws from popping up in liberal localities.

The Court of Appeals for the State of Washington unanimously ruled Edmonds, Washington, violated state law when it instituted rules for how people must store firearms inside their own homes. The ordinance conflicts with a law that blocks localities from making their own gun regulations. Second Amendment activists advanced so-called state preemption laws to protect gun owners from having to navigate a patchwork of local regulations. Gun-control activists have objected to such laws as being too restrictive on local authority.

The Second Amendment Foundation and National Rifle Association, which jointly filed the suit against the ordinance, cheered the ruling.

"Today's ruling is an important victory for the people of Washington," Lars Dalseide, NRA Washington state spokesman, said in a statement.

Alan Gottlieb, founder of the Second Amendment Foundation, told the Washington Free Beacon the win will also "help the cause of protecting preemption nationally." Gun-control advocates have pushed cities and localities in Washington and across the country to pass gun restrictions in an effort to test the limits of preemption laws. They have had little success at circumventing or overturning them thus far and Gottlieb said Monday's win will only strengthen the legal case for state preemption laws.

Edmonds mayor Mike Nelson did not return a request for comment.

Activists have filed suits to challenge gun-control laws in other cities. They are confident that the precedent set in the Edmonds suit will have a domino effect in other Democratic strongholds in the state. Gottlieb said the ruling provides more ammunition in the gun groups' case against a gun storage ordinance in Seattle.

"We have a very similar suit against the city of Seattle, on an ordinance, that's almost identically worded as this one," Gottlieb said. "It's going to be extremely helpful for us."

BREAKING NEWS: Seventy-Two Killed Resisting Gun Confiscation In Massachusetts.

National Guard units seeking to confiscate a cache of recently banned assault weapons were ambushed by elements of a Para-military extremist faction. Military and law enforcement sources estimate that 72 were killed and more than 200 injured before government forces were compelled to withdraw.

Speaking after the clash, Massachusetts Governor Thomas Gage declared that the extremist faction, which was made up of local citizens, has links to the radical right-wing tax protest movement.

Gage blamed the extremists for recent incidents of vandalism directed against internal revenue offices. The governor, who described the group’s organizers as “criminals,” issued an executive order authorizing the summary arrest of any individual who has interfered with the government’s efforts to secure law and order.

The military raid on the extremist arsenal followed wide-spread refusal by the local citizenry to turn over recently outlawed assault weapons.

Gage issued a ban on military-style assault weapons and ammunition earlier in the week. This decision followed a meeting in early this month between government and military leaders at which the governor authorized the forcible confiscation of illegal arms.

One government official, speaking on condition of anonymity, pointed out that “none of these people would have been killed had the extremists obeyed the law and turned over their weapons voluntarily.”

Government troops initially succeeded in confiscating a large supply of outlawed weapons and ammunition. However, troops attempting to seize arms and ammunition in Lexington met with resistance from heavily-armed extremists who had been tipped off regarding the government’s plans.

During a tense standoff in the Lexington town park, National Guard Colonel Francis Smith, commander of the government operation, ordered the armed group to surrender and return to their homes. The impasse was broken by a single shot, which was reportedly fired by one of the right-wing extremists.

Eight civilians were killed in the ensuing exchange.

Ironically, the local citizenry blamed government forces rather than the extremists for the civilian deaths. Before order could be restored, armed citizens from surrounding areas had descended upon the guard units. Colonel Smith, finding his forces over matched by the armed mob, ordered a retreat.

Governor Gage has called upon citizens to support the state/national joint task force in its effort to restore law and order. The governor also demanded the surrender of those responsible for planning and leading the attack against the government troops.

Samuel Adams, Paul Revere, and John Hancock, who have been identified as “ringleaders” of the extremist faction, remain at large.

And this fellow Americans, is how the American Revolution began, April 20, 1775.
