What b.s. ? The fact we are running a 250 billion dollar deficit for the year up from a projected 25 billion dollar deficit . Do you think that money just appears out of thin air ? The piper must be paid .
What is the interest on that kind of dough ? Will the debt servicing put undo pressure on future governments to cut other programs ?

While I fully agree with your concerns, what are the alternatives? Interest rates are low, so that concern can be set aside, people have to be paid for lending their money! I'm in favour of cutting programs to a certain extent. People have try to do more for themselves. The health program takes a huge chunk of tax money. There is room there for a big improvement, which is in the hands of the people. How much money does sugar consumption alone contribute to the health budget? Smoking? Alcohol? Lack of exercise? These are all things that are in the hands of the people. Of course there is one other fix. Before handing out cash to people put them through a stringent means test! One thing Justin has failed to do so far. I'll bet a $billion or more has been squandered right there.
