Re: COVIDD-19 'Pandemic'

It's not the administration, it's the idiot trump. Only him. It's more than likely why the White House is looking at having trump step back and not do all the daily briefings he's been doing.
So , his is the only administration that is flying by the seat of his pants . Have you watched the inept effort by political betters , yikes the incompetence is staggering . Give your head a shake man .

If it was locked down, boomer wouldn't be crossing it. If it was locked down, nurses in Windsor wouldn't be crossing every day into Detroit and back. If it was locked down, canadians in mexico couldn't come back home.
Get back to me after you try it , otherwise STFU . They are classed essential travel . And just for the books I will throw in a you idiot .

I think if you replace "lockdown" with "severe restrictions", you'll have your answer.

Re: COVIDD-19 'Pandemic'

Yeah, people take the word lock down too literally. Like I have said before, the doors on my house still lock from the inside. I'm free to come and go as I please.

Good to see a little common sense on this forum. It's in very short supply at times. I've left my house a dozen times or more since the endemic started w/o once being questioned or looked at weirdly. If you follow the rules, it's likely no one will bother you. If you act like an idiot and go on protest marches you'll likely end up in jail. :)

seems you are not coping with the current situation a l that well. Being over emotional about it is counterproductive......... You might think about finding an outlet for your anger.

It's still not locked down. As a matter of fact, trudeau is now allowing asylum seekers to cross at regular border crossings. They sure as hell can't be classified as essential, and neither can tourists and snow birds.

Re: COVIDD-19 'Pandemic'

Which restaurant have you had a good meal in in the last month? Been to a good game lately at the arena or ballpark? Taken a book out of the library the past couple of weeks? Taken the kids to the park? Stroll through Crappy Tire? Bought a new shirt at the Bay? Had a coffee in Timmies? Taken in a service at church? Free, not a chance.

Walter, the point is... now pay attention... that you've never been free, ever. You think because you can go to a park or sit in a Timmies drinking coffee that you're a free man? I hate to break it to you Walter, but the government controls you more than you know.

Now to your questions, I have been to two restaurants in the last few weeks to pick up meals, which is fine with me to ensure my safety and the safety of others. Haven't been to a game because sporting venues are closed for everyone's safety, works for me. Library? Nope, I order my books online, free to do that. Taken the kids to a park? Nope, don't have kids, but my husband and I took our dog to a park just the other day, parks here are open, just have to practice social distancing and you're good to go. Canadian Tire? Nope, haven't gone there but considering that they're open I could if I desired to do so. Been to the Bay, nope they're closed for safety and if I really needed a shirt, WalMart is open. Also I'm free to order clothes online if I like. Coffee in Timmies no, coffee from Timmies, yes, drive through is open. Church service? Nope. I don't believe in organized religion. But yep, they too are closed... for everyone's safety.

Yes Walter, wear your seatbelt, you have to be 19 to drink, pay your taxes..

Yep, don't fish here, throw that little one back, don't hunt here, don't park here, wear your motorcycle helmet, don't drive above this speed limit, shovel your sidewalk, clean your yard... it's endless.

https://globalnews.ca/news/6863544/blaine-higgs-nb-covid-19-recovery-plan/

Despite some arguing whether or not the numbers were right... here's highlights.

Golf courses will be allowed to open while keeping their clubhouses and restaurants closed, fishing and hunting seasons will go forward and use of outdoor spaces will be permitted.

The easing of social restrictions will begin with “two-family bubbles.”
Effectively, two households would be able to mutually decide to include one another in their family unit and physical-distancing requirements would be dropped for them.

Post-secondary programs that have hands-on requirements will be permitted to operate with strict controls.

For New Brunswickers of faith, outdoor or “drive-in” religious meetings will be allowed to occur.

In a nut shell, the 'lockdown' being maligned by Blackie and Wally worked in NB with six plus days of lowering numbers, now we're easing back to 'normal'.

The lockdown worked.

If people listen.

Common sense is key to dealing with this situation. I've been out too, plenty of times and for the life of me I cannot recall being forced back into my home at gunpoint. My husband took our dog for a walk yesterday and he managed to do so without incident/run in with the law.

If you act like an idiot and go on protest marches you'll likely end up in jail... or possibly in the hospital with coronavirus.

You try and cross.. it's locked down for YOU..

I'm considered an essential worker (you got to eat, no?), nurses, doctors, police, pharmacist and so on.. are essential.

Also if you're a Canadian in Mexico you can't come back via the USA, only a direct flight to Canada.. unless essential

I have a letter from my company because many cities have curfew to, with heavy fines.

Laredo, TX face covering and curfews are in place, and $1000 USD for breaking them.

Emergency ordinance implements face-masks and curfew for all ages

Re: COVIDD-19 'Pandemic'

I thought so. And that invalidates anything you say about what works and does notwork. One can only imagine the loss of population if nothing had been done.

This is a new virus......and everyone is learning. Rule of thumb.......better to err on the side of caution.........than take the risk........with people's lives.

You would just sit there and watch people get horribly ill and die. and contaminate others.

Bloody good thing you are not in charge. If you are working, grocery shopping...... you are not locked down. You are not in jail.

No point replying to him, OB. The man is an idiot!

Point is, the border is not locked down. People are still crossing.

I'd say Snow birds are pretty close to essential for a couple of reasons, perhaps the most important being, after about 182 days out of the country, their medical coverage is no longer valid! Their fire insurance on their house may also be in jeopardy.
