Re: COVIDD-19 'Pandemic'

good point. .. Can you imagine the reaction of some if they had made it a temporary LAW??

Well, when the politicians call it a lock down, it doesnt take much for some people to go nuts. We are far from locked down. If we were, then people would remember these last few months as a vacation.

When I can jump in my truck, and pretty much go any where I want, that's not a lock down.
When I can go to a grocery store anytime I want, within their normal operating times, it's not a lock down.

Have there been restrictions, yup.
Have there been recommendations as to travel, yup.

But there definitely hasn't been any lock down.

Even the border between Canada and the u.s. and the u.s. and Mexico isnt "locked down".

It is probably the words Lock down that has some bent out of shape. They take it literally........as if they are in jail.

Yeah, people take the word lock down too literally. Like I have said before, the doors on my house still lock from the inside. I'm free to come and go as I please.

Re: COVIDD-19 'Pandemic'

I thought so. And that invalidates anything you say about what works and does notwork. One can only imagine the loss of population if nothing had been done.
This is a new virus......and everyone is learning. Rule of thumb.......better to err on the side of caution.........than take the risk........with people's lives.
You would just sit there and watch people get horribly ill and die. and contaminate others.
Bloody good thing you are not in charge. If you are working, grocery shopping...... you are not locked down. You are not in jail.

And the public outcry if things had gone the way of doing nothing and the deaths been so much more.

Re: COVIDD-19 'Pandemic'

The so called lock down exists because of the virus. No other reason.
Yes the economy is getting a battering.
How would YOU have handled this pandemic if YOU were in charge.?? Not just from a political , economical point of view but also a HEALTH point of view
Restrictions are gradually being loosened here ......depending on the degree of virus infection.
Sweden did it right.

Which restaurant have you had a good meal in in the last month? Been to a good game lately at the arena or ballpark? Taken a book out of the library the past couple of weeks? Taken the kids to the park? Stroll through Crappy Tire? Bought a new shirt at the Bay? Had a coffee in Timmies? Taken in a service at church? Free, not a chance.

no one said it was essay........but you seem to be having a really bad time of it. You can do most of the things you mentioned.....but in a different way. Use the imagination you were born with. Enhance your coping strategies.......because this is a good time for some serious reflection on the things we take for granted........ that are not classified as essentials. Perhaps you will gain a new appreciation for the things you used to take for granted.

Perhaps a life lesson is that one cannot take things for granted......as in a few moments things can change drastically. this is temporary........even if is seems like forever.

Complaining about it is counterproductive and not doing you any good either.

This a new virus , everyone is learning . Including the Trump administration , the CDC and the WHO and the Canadian federal and provincial governments , yet you have stated categorically that every move Trump has made is wrong and had nothing negative attached to all other entities.

Re: COVIDD-19 'Pandemic'

Guess what Walter, the government has always told you what you can and cannot do.
Actually we the governed are supposed to tell the government what to do and they are supposed to do it in the most expeditious and cost friendly way . Somewhere that principle seems to have been lost .

It's not the administration, it's the idiot trump. Only him. It's more than likely why the White House is looking at having trump step back and not do all the daily briefings he's been doing.

If it was locked down, boomer wouldn't be crossing it. If it was locked down, nurses in Windsor wouldn't be crossing every day into Detroit and back. If it was locked down, canadians in mexico couldn't come back home.

Nope, park is closed. That has what to do with the fact that you can leave your house any time you want.
