Canada to Spend $10 Billion to Bail Out its Oil Industry
A key Canadian crude oil benchmark fell below $5.50 per barrel this week, putting 100,000 Canadian jobs at risk. A bailout package is quickly making its way through the country's government.

More money for the most subsidized business in the country.
But God forbid anyone get a $5,000 subsidy to buy an EV

How many EVs are built in Canada? Subsidizing EVs is just subsidizing foreign industry.

Lots of ICs are built here
How is that any different?
Think about it. I know that will be hard for you. Also we can both use oil ourselves and export it. Gas for your car isn't the only product derived from oil. Actually it is more of a byproduct. So if you get rid of oil most of your cloths are gone. ANd computers, which in your case would be a good thing.

Nobody is suggesting we are getting rid of all the products that are made from oil - we are talking about stopping the use of gasoline for daily travel. Which is happening regardless of whether we happen to be for or against it.

Saskatchewan? I think it's come up in a different thread a while back. Hard to spell but easy to draw...but lacks a Navy.
He means BC(bring cash). Our economy is falsely claimed to be the best in Canada but it is only because of a housing boom fuels by rich foreigners wanting to retire here. As soon as you get out of the desirable locations it is a different story. Any real industry is being killed off by the government that boasts about the good economy.

Unfortunately we can only export electricity to the US, which is something of a fickle market. Other than that we could export uranium and coal to make electricity where the markets are. The problem with more nukes is more nuke disasters and radiation is much like virus that don't respect boarders. Perhaps someone will develop a floating battery large enough to carry electricity to Asia cost effectively but for now that isn't happening.

Good a little late but it will help the Canadian economy bigtime even if it is a low interest loan.

Besides $10 Billion is a spit in the Ocean compared to what the Oil industry has handed over to the Canadian Gov. in the form of equalization, transfer payments, and many forms of taxes.

We really only export oil to the US anyway. And if someone was to fill an oil tanker up with a Tesla battery farm that ship could discharge energy anywhere that an oil tanker currently does.

There is even a plan to turn oil tankers into wave ships that produce their own renewable energy through wave action. Any renewable source married to battery storage is where the world is headed.
