We really only export oil to the US anyway. And if someone was to fill an oil tanker up with a Tesla battery farm that ship could discharge energy anywhere that an oil tanker currently does.
There is even a plan to turn oil tankers into wave ships that produce their own renewable energy through wave action. Any renewable source married to battery storage is where the world is headed.
Maybe in 200 years. For now oil is king.

The question is weather it is cost effective. We could run a cable under the ocean and sell power to Asia but it would not be cost effective.

$10 a barrel oil is not cost effective.

$10/barrel is the worst thing to happen for the Green revolution since it's inception.

The Oil sands can't shutdown otherwise the Oil will plug every pipe in the facility costing Billions to get back into operation.

We can both use electricity ourselves and export it.
Nobody is suggesting we are getting rid of all the products that are made from oil - we are talking about stopping the use of gasoline for daily travel. Which is happening regardless of whether we happen to be for or against it.

Canada already exports electricity in a big way Ont. and Que. count on it, Man. exports to Sask. and the US.

I was thinking Cenovous Energy Inc. Steady at about $12 per share now down to $1.66. Thinking of buying 10,000 shares.

That $4.5 Billion is probably paid back already as that line was not shutdown and pumping at full capacity

I suspect that hemerHOID is being even more FOOLISH than usual here.

As far as I know - our idiot LIE-beral govt BOUGHT ONLY the HALF COMPLETED Kinder Morgan pipeline!

The OLDER line that is of course still in operation - as far as I know - remains in private hands!

They are leaders in SAGD and EOR.

Pay attention to lease movement. That is where you'll find who is solid and who is shakey.

Nope the $4.5 Billion was the purchase of the old line and material and what has been completed to date on the Twin.

It won’t last. If you’re smart you’d be buying some energy stock. I have one for you if you’d like a tip.
ALso on this board if I was a smart guy I would have bought GE at $18

That was a hell of a tip. Great dividend there. You get paid to wait, apparently.

Also Tesla. Stay away from Tesla stock. That is never going to work. Electric cars?

But good luck with all your future investments.
