I think you may be over diagnosing just a tad there, Cliffy. His opinions are as valid anyone's.
Probably change a person's opinion on certain issues with a rational discussion but not their basic outlook. I have even agreed with hoid the odd time. I think those were the times someone hacked his account and made a rational statement but whatever.
I agree, if you can't figure out how to gain something by discussion, it is a waste of time. There are some of us that can figure out the benefits of discussion, though.
Yes, and it was also designed to prevent autocrats from becoming rulers like those they escaped from in Europe.
The impeachment is a sham, but it will stick to Trump like glue anyways. The failure of the Dems will stick to them like glue, as usual, also. But we all know why the Dems will fail and it isn't just because of their incompetence; it is also due to unethical and immoral scumbags like McConnell, Barr, Pompeo, etc. and wingnuts such as Giuliani and the like.
Yes, a democratic republic as opposed to an autocratic republic, banana republic, Islamic republic, etc. and even democratic republics are different (such as the difference between the American republic and the Swiss republic).
But, I know that is deeper than you are used to thinking, so I won't press it further.
Yet it was the immoral and unethical means of Shiff and friends that passed that dogs breakfast onto the Senate .
