Yes. I favor direct national popular election of the president and vice-president. I've said so several times. I'm even willing to explain why, but I see you've already decided why. Where'd you get that? Breitbart? Fox?
I have no opinion of your 2019 election. I really don't care whom the client states elect to be their Utility Ministers.

Popular vote would favor the bulk of population so 2016 would have seen Hitlary win in a popular vote thanks mainly to NY and LA cities

That's your thinking. See, when you make up stuff in your head, attribute it to me, and then argue against it, you're really just talking to yourself.

But I imagine you do a lot of that.

This is really easy, Moosie. You don't know me. I've come to the conclusion you aren't capable of knowing me, or how I think. Because you think in stereotypes, and aren't able to think any other way.

the 905 already has ridings that have twice the population of yours.
isn't that enough for you? Your vote is worth two of theirs.

Again pretty much favouring the popular vote which lies in the smallest regions

I don't see how it would work in your system. Then again, see above.

I'm not sure either, would have to change the whole system to pretty much mimic yours, or give the PM Veto, or pass the vote on to a voted not appointment senate with more power on resolution review.

What really puzzles me is that so many people have spent most of the past three years discussing Trump and will likely continue wasting the rest of their lives doing so. Most of us could never understand his world anyway - in short I can think of a hundred other things I'd rather waste my life doing.
haha BS Then why do you constantly post in threads about Trump?

Now that you got your rip on me, tell me why the popular vote would not favour the highest population of the nation?

Dafuq?

The individual words were English, but the sentence made no sense. A country has one population: the people.

Unless you're talking about letting puppy dogs and kitty cats vote.

And the highest populations are not centered in the largest cities that have different needs and concerns than rural areas? Who would the POTUS/PM pander too knowing where the bulk of their votes are coming from?

The biggest problem with it that I can see is it CAN favour small pockets of large populations concentrated in densely populated areas, but doesn't represent a fair share of the land area.

You know what I'm saying, and it must be making a little sense otherwise you wouldn't be deflecting to a "We are one nation under God" argument.
I haven't the faintest idea what you're saying.

And I made no such argument. You're delusional.

Let me put it to you straight. One person, one vote, for president and vice-president. End of.

Alrighty then we are done, I'm glad your founders foreseen this and implemented the EC to make sure all states are relevant in the election of POTUS.

Precisely. I don't think they should be. I think that a national office should be elected by the nation, not by the states.

I freely acknowledge that under the Constitution as it currently stands, that is not how it is. I just think it should be.

Here's one for you: are you aware that there is currently no requirement whatever that the states hold elections at all? If the state legislature wants to simply appoint the electors, it can do so. U.S. Const., Art. II, sec. 1, cl. 3.

That doesn't square with my notions of democracy.
