You would have cried had Hitler been assassinated by the Allies.
is assassination your answer to criminals now?? We have courts and laws to deal with criminals.....no matter how horrible. Assassinations are sadistic , and uncivilized.......and usually have other motives. They are not justice. Being a Brit.....you would think you would know that....... and opt for a civilized criminal court to deal with these criminals. ........wait.........but you do have a history of beheading and other atrocities .......don't you?? Hmm. Have you not evolved since then?? the US is still a very young country..........and has not evolved beyond the wild west mentality........but you should really know and be better.

Trump says 4 embassies were under threat from Iran, a claim contested by U.S. officials

A senior administration official and a senior defense official said they were only aware of vague intelligence about a plot against the embassy in Baghdad. Neither said there were threats against multiple embassies.

source: WAPO

.........enter a Pinocchio icon here.

Let's see the intelligence for this.......(and don't doctor it )

What happened to the law and civilization ??

They don't apply to the Americans because they are too powerful. Their power is the source of their arrogance.

Very few nations wants to stand up to them, that is the problem here, and the ones who do, get punished, heavily. And another problem, when the US does such things, all the world can do is voice out their frustrations... what is voicing out and protesting going to do?

The only way to make them think twice of committing evil, is the 193 nations on Earth stand up against them, all together, and threaten them with force.

are you supposing the american Self appoint judge jury and executioner on the international stage??

Yes, the Americans have appointed themselves that and they are not afraid to practice it.

and therefore creating more rage at the US which only translates into terrorism??

That will be their undoing. I believe that another 9/11 will happen sooner or later, then they will decide to invade another nation, wasting trillions of dollars and then another 9/11 happens, invasion, waste trillions of dollars, another 9/11, invasion, waste money -> rinse and repeat.

They will keep doing this until their nation grows weak and perhaps, even collapse.

The US .by assassinating someone o f that caliber or any caliber........is playing fast and loose with the laws.......

They've been doing that for a long time now.

the are supposed t differentiate it from the more barbaric nations

They are corrupted with power is the problem and they feel no fear wielding this power because nobody stands up to them.

The US is no better than Kim........in the assassination category.....

They haven't been any better than a terrorist state. The intentions of their founding fathers, noble as they may seem, have long been corrupted. And the people there don't care because the battles are being fought thousands of kilometers away, so who cares if an entire family gets wiped out on the other side of the world.

it is doing it out in the open now showing its true colors.

They have shown their true colors for a very long time now. And once again, they will keep showing their true colors because they don't feel fear. They know the world will not unite against them.

while telling the world it is a nation of LAWS.

Nicaragua v. USA.

"The ICJ held that the U.S. had violated international law by supporting the Contras in their rebellion against the Sandinistas and by mining Nicaragua's harbors. The United States refused to participate in the proceedings after the Court rejected its argument that the ICJ lacked jurisdiction to hear the case. The U.S. also blocked enforcement of the judgment by the United Nations Security Council and thereby prevented Nicaragua from obtaining any compensation.

The Court found in its verdict that the United States was "in breach of its obligations under customary international law not to use force against another State", "not to intervene in its affairs", "not to violate its sovereignty", "not to interrupt peaceful maritime commerce", and "in breach of its obligations under Article XIX of the Treaty of Friendship, Commerce and Navigation between the Parties signed at Managua on 21 January 1956."

.... the U.S. still chose not to pay the fine."

"...law would collapse if defendants could only be sued when they agreed to be sued, and the proper measurement of that collapse would be not just the drastically diminished number of cases but also the necessary restructuring of a vast system of legal transactions and relations predicated on the availability of courts as a last resort. There would be talk of a return to the law of the jungle."

- Anthony D'Amato

The US also used the ICJ during the Iran hostage crisis.

........what kind of laws are they referring to??......those they make up as they go along??

Yep.

sheer lunacy.

It is sheer lunacy and there are people here who defend them; that makes it even more insane.

Excellent post. ......and one that is probably giving the Trumpians not only nausea but apoplexy

They just cannot or will not see the bigger picture........and will only accept Trump's lies.and crazy sound bites.

Yes..the US has a pretty bad history and is still so young. But I thin that Trump is exactly the type of leader the founding fathers were terrified of.

I do think the US does have fears.........but only know aggression as a solution to them. Not working is it?? Look at all the security they have to live with now. They are terrified of being attacked.......and of losing power. They want other nations to stay poor and needy so that the US can "help and then take control.Particularly if they haver natural resources . But it might just backfire as it has isolated itself..... and other nations are getting fed up with dealing with them. Nations should work towards being independent of the US........ as that would isolate them further.... It wants to go it alone......... let's give them the opportunity. New liaisons will form pretty quickly ......

Something abut ancient Rome comes to mind.

And I hope the pro-yankee people out there go with them.

I am sick and tired of the stupid ways they defend the US and want the them to remain as the world's superpower because according to them, the they are much better compared to China, EU or Russia? I can't wait for the day when any of these three take over and these fools eat their words.

I usually hate arrogance but sometimes, I prefer it if Americans just say it like this:

"Because we have nukes and you don't. Bring it cowboy. You'll lose millions and we will plant the flag on top of their corpses.

Plus we have Batman and the Tick."

I'm loving the salt mining.

I can do a lot of it with all the liberal tears. I can put it on bacon and eggs.

Liberals have been doing a lot of crying lately because they keep losing, most people know they are wrong, and things aren't going their way.

So let's keep mining that tasty salt.

May as well add the 40 some that were trampled to death at the funeral demonstration, by trying to be tough on Trump the Iranians sure made complete fools of themselves.

There is another way to look at it.

There was the attack on the General.

The funeral had thousands pay tribute.

Thousands more stood with the Iranian government because of Trump threatening cultural areas.

Then Iran shoots down the aircraft carrying Iranians.

And lies about it.

The Iranian people are likely now very WTF over this.

IF - and it's a big IF - the US play their cards right and IF the rest of the international community play their cards right, this COULD be the start of something that just might change Iran. Already hints of things going that way.

But again, BIG IF.

Admiral Lord West has said that America and Britain could be entering WWIII against Iran.

The Iranians view the Americans and British as the two greatest powers in the world - Big Satan and Little Satan - and that the two are joined at the hip.

Therefore, Iranian anger against the Americans extends to the British, too.

That's why both flags were burnt in recent protests.

And you're on the side of Iran.

Why don't you go and live there? I'm sure you'd love it, especially being a woman.

Where in all that's good do you see that? Oh, wait, your fantasy world bubble.

The only 'dopey' one here is you, Blackie. Your ignorance about the reality of the world is only surpassed by your belief the UK is the greatest nation in the world (hint, it's not).

I was thinking along the same lines. It could be a pivotal moment for Iran if they handle it right. And with pressure from the population.........who knows.
