The exact same thing could have been said about Lincoln, Winston Churchill, F.D.R., Harry Truman. Where would the world be today if not for those guys? :)
Black Lives Matter might still be in chains .

There is a good point raised by this...

Iran WAS complying with the treaty, the US pulled out of it but the other nations kept with it.

So what will they do now that the US has assassinated - and admittedly and openly stated it - one of their people?
So Iran has stopped funding terrorist attacks on western nations ? Good to know .

Well , right now.......they and the world are in shock.....

Imagine...... Iran following the agreement........... the US pulls out like a toddler having a temper tantrum......... then the US puts heavy sanctions on Iran........and now this. Who is the real problem?? The US wants to be the only one with nukes.......
Meanwhile Trump is gloating over his first premeditated assassination. and the ME is even more unstable...... which isnot helping to maintain stability on the planet.

We need to see the intelligence that was used to justify this.. The same intelligence agency that Trump has degraded and bashed .......... Trump expects everyone to believe only him........ a pathological liar. Where secrecy is becoming more and more prominent. THAT is not healthy or positive in a "democracy.............

The "imminent threat" thing they are promoting has as much credibility as the imminent threat from Saddam non existent WMD. and remember how Saddam was butchered in the most barbaric manner.....

They killed Bin Laden in front of his family..........like barbarians.........that they claim to hate.

Qaddafi was slaughtered in a barbaric fashion too..........

There is a pattern now........of how uncivilised the US really is. The sad thing is that the US cannot complain about ANY anti Americanism...........as it is justified.....and US created.
shocking

Trump has always acted like the dude that would smash a mosquito with a sledge hammer. He has no tact, no self-control, no restraint, and no concern for consequences.
Yes, the Iranian general was an a-hole and deserved to be offed, but people (I'm betting Israelis) other than Trump will pay for Trump's impulsiveness.
Yes I am sure this will ratchet up anti Israeli sentiment in the Arab world . Sad , they seemed headed for peace and harmony .

Australia is burning to the ground and There’s an impeached president sitting in the situation room, authorizing International assassinations, without congressional approval. And people will STILL defend that moron in the White House.

Iraqi Parliament Votes to Expel All American Troops and Submit UN Complaint Against US for Violation of Sovereignty

"What happened was a political assassination. Iraq cannot accept this."

Iraq's parliament voted in an extraordinary session Sunday to expel all American troops from the country and file a United Nations complaint against the U.S. for violating Iraq's sovereignty with its assassination of Iranian General Qasem Soleimani in Baghdad.
Ahead of the vote, chants of "No, no, America" rang out inside the hall.
"Iraq called on the U.N. Security Council to condemn the bombing and assassinations," Iraq's foreign ministry said in a statement following the vote.

As The National reported, the Iraqi parliament approved "a five-point action plan that would require the Iraqi government to end the presence of foreign troops in the country, and withdraw its request for assistance from the anti-ISIS global coalition."
"Parliament also called on the government to ban the use of Iraqi airspace by any foreign power," according to The National.

There is no 'right' v 'left': it is Trump and the oligarchs against the rest

I keep hearing that the Democratic party has moved “left” and that Democratic candidates may be “too far left”.
But in an era of unprecedented concentration of wealth and political power at the top, I can’t help wondering what it means to be “left”.
A half-century ago, when America had a large and growing middle class, those on the “left” sought stronger social safety nets and more public investment in schools, roads and research. Those on the “right” sought greater reliance on the free market.
But as wealth and power have concentrated at the top, everyone else – whether on the old right or the old left – has become disempowered and less secure.
Safety nets have unraveled, public investments have waned and the free market has been taken over by crony capitalism and corporate welfare cheats. Washington and state capitals are overwhelmed by money coming from the super rich, Wall Street and big corporations.
So why do we continue to hear and use the same old “right” and “left” labels?
I suspect it’s because the emerging oligarchy feels safer if Americans are split along the old political battle lines. That way, Americans won’t notice they’re being shafted.
In reality, the biggest divide in America today runs between oligarchy and democracy. When oligarchs fill the coffers of political candidates, they neuter democracy.
The oligarchs know politicians won’t bite the hands that feed them. So as long as they control the money, they can be confident there will be no meaningful response to stagnant pay, climate change, military bloat or the soaring costs of health insurance, pharmaceuticals, college and housing.

So even if they don’t roll over , what can they do to America ? America has the power to level the whole country of Iran in twenty four hours , without using nuclear weapons .
Iran on the other hand was fought to a stand still by lowly Iraq .
Perhaps America can do that but can America take on Russia and China together? Does America really want to piss off those two to the point of war? I doubt it. For one thing, Trump is a hit and run actor, sending small groups to attack and back off, not one for an enduring war. In case you hadn't noticed, he wants to pull out of Afghanistan, Syria, etc. And Iran is rated 14th in the world for military strength, Russia is rated at 2, and China is rated at 3rd in the world and Trump seems intent upon pissing off a lot of the rest, so good luck getting help from Europe, Canada, and the "shithole countries".
You regressives can't seem to clue in to people's personalities and the motives and behaviours behind events. It's pretty interesting.
