I was wondering when the war that would assure Trump wins the next election would begin. This may be the beginning of it. An incumbent president has never lost an election during a war. - Chris Waller

This is not going to end well. Trump ordered this hit and Iran will not sit still and let this slide. It has always been obvious to me that a good war will assure his reelection. Trump needs this war but it will not be a good war.

good points. Trump has provoked this situation............and it will get ugly...... Trump does not care what he hast o do just to "win"........He has no ethereal boundaries and has no problem lying and obfuscating. If it takes a war to re elect him...........it also; speaks badly for the voters.............and how they make their decisions. If the voters were truly anti war they would go for the candidate that was not a warmonger...Seems the population is really f***ed up now. Not sure they even know what they want in their leader. Trump has been provocative to other nations........except to Putin , Kim, The Saudis .............and has been verbally abusive to the others......He must think that a war will make him some fantastic military leader........giving himself something close to absolute power........ aka authoritarianism.

Iran has tentacles.........

And Trump is playing both sides against the middle............NO clear position or plan.

The United States' main allies are abandoning Trump over his 'dangerous escalation' with Iran

  • The US's European allies on Friday warned against further escalation with Iran after President Donald Trump ordered the assassination of Iranian Maj. Gen. Qassem Soleimani.
  • The UK said that further conflict "is in none of our interests."
  • Germany also warned of a "dangerous escalation."
  • The US government decided to go ahead with the airstrike late Thursday without informing its European partners angered some allies, BuzzFeed News reported.
  • "The purpose of having allies is that we can surprise our enemies and not each other," Tom Tugendhat, the chairman of the UK Parliament's Foreign Affairs Committee, told the BBC.
US allies on Friday warned against any further escalation of the conflict with Iran following President Donald Trump's decision to authorize the assassination of Iranian Maj. Gen. Qassem Soleimani late Thursday.
The airstrike, which was reportedly launched without consulting US allies, led to warnings from several European nations, with only Israel speaking out strongly in favor of Trump's decision.

as they should. The US could find itself very isolated now.........

In reality it has no friends anymore. Trump saw to that.

Now we just wait for the payback (consequences) from Iran........and Iran has many tentacles ready to act. Iran might show itself to be more civilized than the US has. They can do it at their own schedule .........

I want to see the evidence of the so called imminent threat...........that has been used as an excuse to do this assassination. This conduct is no better than Kim assassinating his family member to fit hos won agenda. It is premeditated MURDER / execution. and that is what it would be called if another nation did this. The US might think it i s the exception.........it is NOT...........in fact it continues to behave badly. So the upshot is that Americans better be afraid and stay afraid. Thanks to their leaders Insane policies and behaviors.

Personally I want to see the International Community do EXACTLY to Trump as they'd do to any other rogue nation leader who would do something like this: sanction the fuk out of it.

So would I.

Why is the world protecting Iran? Obama put the general on the UN terrorist list, and was up to no good when he was taken out. So when Obama was taken out in Pakistan without permission from the Gov. was OK, but this isn't? Trump warned Iran if they were behind any destruction of US property or killing of any US citizens they would retaliate and he followed through. Iran Killed a US citizen then attacked a US embassy in Iraq they crossed the Redline and they paid in a bigly way.

You seem confused. There is a difference between protecting someone/something and disciplining a rogue perp.
And it was Bin Laden that was taken out in Pakistan, not Obama.
Generally, Obama had a fair amount of support from other nations where Trump seems to do what he can to antagonize them so it is no surprise that everyone was ok with the Bin Laden thing and not ok with the Iranian general thing.
What surprised me was the goofy bugger from Israel applauding the US action. It's bound to have a negative effect upon Israeli peoples.
