U.S. officials systematically misled the public about the war in Afghanistan, confidential documents obtained by The Post reveal

In government interviews that reveal a secret history of the war in Afghanistan, senior U.S. officials admitted they adopted contradictory strategies and unattainable goals, based on flawed assumptions about a country they didn’t understand. As they did in Vietnam, U.S. presidents, generals and diplomats systematically failed to tell the truth about the war in Afghanistan. They made rosy pronouncements they knew to be false and hid unmistakable evidence the war had become unwinnable.
After a three-year legal battle, The Post obtained notes and transcripts, as well as several audio recordings, from more than 400 of the interviews and compiled them into a comprehensive database. In stark language, the documents reveal that people who were directly involved in the war could not shake their doubts about the strategy and mission, even as Presidents Bush, Obama and, later, Trump told the American people it was necessary to keep fighting.

An especially poorly conceived war and a tragedy that Canada took part in combat.

US war(s) in Afghanistan has been a failure and a lie from the start,
Quel surprise
The Americans invoked NATO Article Five (the one and only time that has happened) and Canada responded as per our treaty obligations and went to Afghanistan. NATO has helped Canada to defend ourselves with spare change and we have been the beneficiaries of other nation's commitments to NATO.

Pretty sure it was a UN mission

and regardless of the reason we went - it was wrong. we had no business taking on a fight we were not prepared to finish - and that would leave us there forever.

I stand corrected.

But as I say it doesn't really alter the fact that we went in there without proper consideration

We sent Canadians to war without even considering the facts.

That is what happened.

The Afghanistan War Revealed: An 18 Year, Trillion Dollar Lie!

RonPaulLibertyReport

For 18 years, US government officials - from the generals up to presidents - have knowingly lied to the American people about the Afghanistan war.

As billions were being flushed away or stuffed into the pockets of corrupt officials, the news for those of us back home was always good! We're "making progress."

Now, thanks to 2,000 documents recently released as a result of a FOIA request, we know the truth. Will anyone be held accountable for this monstrous, murderous lie?

"Non partisan
WAR MONGERING
NEOCONS"

U.S. officials 'repeatedly lied about Afghanistan war for 18 years and hid the fact it was unwinnable', according to bombshell Washington Post report dubbed 'the Pentagon Papers of today'

The Washington Post published 2,000 pages of documents obtained via FOIA request on Monday
They contain interviews from senior military personnel between 2014 and 2018

The interviews were part of a government investigation into the Afghanistan war

They paint a picture where officials were 'woefully deficient' in intelligence

Troops did not know 'who the bad guys were and where to find them', it claims

There was also confusion over the point of the war; what began as a fight against terror turned into an effort to democratize Afghanistan, they say Officials 'routinely distorted data' to make it appear as though the US was winning

At the same time, Presidents Bush and Obama made speeches describing the military's success and progress in the region

The reality, the report claims, was the war was 'unwinnable', senior officials knew it but nearly $1 trillion was spent and 2,400 lives were lost

NO: you are justifying ILLEGAL GENOCIDE for opium and oil pipeline routes.

Civilian casualties in the war in Afghanistan (2001–present)

During the war in Afghanistan (2001–present), over 31,000 civilian deaths due to war-related violence have been documented;[1][2] 29,900 civilians have been wounded.[2] Over 111,000 Afghans, including civilians, soldiers and militants, are estimated to have been killed in the conflict.[1]

The Cost of War project estimated that the number who have died through indirect causes related to the war may be as high as 360,000 additional people based on a ratio of indirect to direct deaths in contemporary conflicts.[3]

These numbers do not include those who have died in Pakistan.

Something Hoid left out of his quote:

Presidents Bush and Obama made speeches describing the military's success and progress in the region

Gee, the generals all said such nice things about the war as well. Not a word of truth...

Oh, hello Yorgie! Didn't see you standing there sucking up all the military industrial complex dough bois. Just like all the other DUAL PASSPORT NEOCON chickenhawks.

That's not a genocide. People really need to look up the word "genocide" in a dictionary. Besides, I believe we as Canadians, did the right thing in fighting for the Allies against Al Qaeda in Afghanistan.
Yeah, I guess if you ignore the actual facts...like seriously - any one who believes 911 was done by a guy in a cave with a lap top could bang a half once of afghan heroin in one eye ball and it wouldn't make a difference.

4-Year University Study Discredits Official 9/11 Narrative

Nothing sucks the old cheeze wiener like dual passport CHIKINHAWK neotards.
(there is a nice fat bunch of them running the attempted coup on Trump, as we speak)

BTW, Chretien kept us out of Iraq and we did just fine economically. Since we all know the USA and Co. attacked itself on 911, Nato shouldn't have to even get out of bed for something that was a certain false flag from the minute it happened.

This was all one giant theft of everything and anything not nailed down from the BOTH the Nato countries and the muslim countries done by the same bunch of retarded religious zealots who spawned pedo Epstien the blackmail spy.

Wikileaks Bombshell: UN Agency FAKED Douma 'Gas Attack' Report

RonPaulLibertyReport
202K subscribers

New documents released by Wikileaks confirm that within the Organization for the Prevention of Chemical Weapons there was a massive push to alter the findings of the "Fact Finding Mission" sent to Douma, Syria to investigate an alleged gas attack last year. Now 20 inspectors have claimed that their conclusions were left out of the report, which was re-written with conclusions opposite to what they found. Who forced them to fake the report and why?

Well, there you have it, as if we didn't know right from the start, as has been posted often enough.
;)
And from Ron Paul too. You know...the guy with the prefect conservative voting record...

Trump threatens Iran after embassy attack, but is reluctant to get more involved in the region

It’s unclear what moves President Trump will make next as he feels the tug between taking a tough line with Iran and trying to avoid getting more involved in the Middle East. Defense Secretary Mark T. Esper announced that 750 troops would be sent to the region as “an appropriate and precautionary action ... in response to increased threat levels.”
