I believe the one week FBI investigation will simply find more questions than answers....creating an even bigger cloud over Kavanaugh's head. I think the man is ruined no matter how this one shakes down.
Is it fair? Probably not.
Could he have handled the situation more delicately? Yes.
In some respects I find both Kavanaugh and Dr.Ford to be sympathetic characters and this whole debacle will remain a lose/ lose for everyone involved.

The old boys couldn't give a flying feck which is why our culture has reached this point about our treatment of women. The only ... one and only ... way that this wll turn around is when women vote and vote strategically. It is unclear as to whether the latest outrage is outrageous enough to bring that about. Maybe ... maybe not.
Seems that the self expectations of women must evolve too. Too many are still inclined to satay with the familiar and status quo.Cultural change requires that both genders come out of their "comfort" zone. Both genders have to adapt and change.........

She is also the 'witness' who accuses Kavanaugh and his friends of gang-banging women; guys waiting in lines for their turn; all kinds of lewd and lascivious behavior including being assaulted herself. At which of the ten parties she claims to have attended, the alleged assault is to have taken place is not clear nor is her memory due to the fact that she was intoxicated.
I think it would be the icing on the cake if the FBI discovers Kavanaugh attended midget tossing parties.
No matter how many times I am unfortunate enough to catch the current sitting US President in a stream of consciousness rant - I am still gobsmacked at the utter lack of intelligence rife in his comments. The quote below is Trump's response to questions about the investigation.
"They have free rein; they can do whatever they have to do, whatever it is that they do," he said.
"They'll be doing things we have never even thought of," he said. "And hopefully at the conclusion everything will be fine."
