Paul Manaforts former business partner, Rick Gates, called to testify

Gates earlier this year pleaded guilty to conspiracy and lying to the FBI, striking a deal to cooperate with special counsel Robert S. Mueller IIIs investigation. His testimony will likely be one of the most dramatic moments of the high-profile trial.

Rick Gates testifies that he lied for years at Paul Manafort's request, and stole from him and others. Heres our recap.

On the witness stand, Gates detailed years of crimes, saying most of his wrongdoing was committed on behalf of his former boss while other crimes were for his own benefit, including the theft of hundreds of thousands of dollars. Gates also made clear he was testifying against Manafort in the hopes of receiving a lesser prison sentence, having pleaded guilty in February as part of a deal with special counsel Robert S. Mueller III.

Yeah, but Rick Gates ... he was discredited in some Tweet or other, some night or other so therefore, it's all fake news!

Gates’ credibility will be destroyed in cross-examination.

Rick Gates was forced to admit an extramarital affair as Paul Manafort's defense team attacked his lies, secrets and credibility

The courtroom showdown between Paul Manafort and his former business partner grew painfully personal Tuesday as a defense lawyer hammered Rick Gates, the prosecution's star witness, forcing him to admit he embezzled money years ago to fund a transatlantic romance.

There was another Richard Gates, isnt that right? A secret Richard Gates? asked Manafort's attorney, Kevin Downing. Many of Downings questions seemed aimed at buttressing his central defense strategy: that Gates, not Manafort, is the real villain, an inveterate liar and thief. Manafort, President Trumps onetime campaign chairman, is on trial in federal court in Alexandria on bank and tax fraud charges.

How strange: Gates credibility is in question for these behaviors.....when they are the new "standard" as set by the leadership.

Well, Gates plead guilty to conspiring against the United States.

Manafort was in the conspiracy. Obviously Manafort has to put it on Gates.

Say, have you heard that recording of podesta being pranked into wanting to pay for some russian collusion? HIGHLARIOUS!!!

HAHA! Russia Pulls Off LEGENDARY April Fools’ Day Prank on Democratic Party…

There has been no evidence that Russia in any way affected the actual election and there has been no evidence as yet of any collusion about the election between the Trump team and Russia.

On the other hand, there has been plenty of evidence of Russian connections to the Podesta brothers including 35 million given to the company of John Podesta and Tony Podesta lobbying on behalf of a Kremlin-linked bank against U.S. sanctions on Russia.

Now John Podesta suggests that members of 'Trump Inc.' may have colluded with the Russian

Podesta questioned about his financial ties to russia.

They sure don't dare talk about the IG report that showed the trumphaters are scumbags.

Prosecutors in Manafort trial have rested their bank and tax fraud case against the former Trump campaign chairman

After calling 27 witnesses over 10 days, prosecutors with the office of special counsel Robert S. Mueller III concluded their case in Virginia.

Through the testimony of vendors, accountants, bankers and Paul Manaforts onetime business partner, Rick Gates, prosecutors sought to prove that Manafort lied to avoid paying taxes on millions in overseas income and to obtain loans. They highlighted his lavish lifestyle of luxury goods and residences. Manaforts defense will now have the opportunity, if it chooses, to present witnesses.

What a waste of tax payer money it is to recover taxes that were illegally evaded.
