Manafort's second trial is for money laundering and failing to register as a foreign agent when he was lobbying on behalf of Ukraine.

You know you're ****ed when they talk to your book keeper

Prosecutors have now gotten to the meat of the bank fraud charges against Paul Manafort. They showed Rick Gates sent financial documents to two banks indicating Davis Manafort Partners made $4.5 million in 2015.

Bookkeeper Heather Washkuhn testified that was “four million more than what was reported on the documents that we created.” Her firm recorded the company making about $400,000 that year.

Of course part two of the trial is when the IRS goes over the books to see the taxes paid on the imaginary $$

and then they look for the taxes paid on the actual $60 million in foreign accounts.

somebody going to jail

What is that word?

schadenfreude?

I am basking in the schadenfreude.

oh and lets not forget the conspiring against the united states part of the trial.

that is going to be the toughie since Gates has already plead guilty on that one.

perhaps this is why they need to make Gates the bad guy.

Manafort's bookkeeper testifies against him, alleging efforts from Manafort and his partner to fudge numbers as cash dried up

Paul Manaforts longtime bookkeeper told the jury Thursday that his expensive habits lasted until about 2015 when, short on cash, Manafort and his business partner began trying to fudge numbers to get loans.

Heather Washkuhn detailed the eight years she worked for Manafort, managing his spending and overseeing several of his properties, from a Virginia horse farm to New York City condos. Her testimony is critical to the prosecution's case as Manafort, the former campaign chairman to President Trump, is accused of running a years-long scheme to hide millions of dollars in income from the IRS and then, when his income ran dry, lying to get bank loans to continue living the high life.

If Manafort's lawyers thought meuler, the uranium one mule, had a real case, they would have had Manafort plead out...
:)
they didn't.

Capone's lawyers - same thing.

Manafort is gambling that he can beat all 18 charges. He needs to go 18-0 to win while Mueller only has to go 1-17

One of Paul Manaforts accountants testified Friday that she agreed to falsify his tax records

Cindy Laporta said that in 2015, Manaforts right-hand man, Rick Gates, told her his boss couldnt afford to pay his taxes. To ease that burden, she said, Gates instructed her to misrepresent $900,000 in income as a business loan.

I could have called Mr. Manafort and Mr. Gates liars, she said. But Mr. Manafort was a longtime client of the firm, and I did not want to do that either.

Rumor has it the 'quick' part is associated with 0.00010001 % of the crimes committed being successfully prosecuted. Sort of like Weinstein being outed cleaned up Hollywierd of all sexual predators.
