Systems of measurement are, by definition, interchangeable...
;)
unlike data.

The Celsius scale is fine with me; as is the clumsy Fahrenheit scale.

The humidex index is basically bullcrap and of course the irresponsible and alarmist way in which most weather peoplekind report it, is disgusting.

Only exception I know of is Anthony Farnell on Global.

You have to listen carefully; it is mostly what he doesn't say.

CTV & CBC are a disgrace.

Northern Ontario,
The proponent of global warming in this forum are only good at paroting what their global warming gurus say...
They couldn't explain in their own words how global warming would come about if their life depended on it....
Like all religions.... you have to believe to be able to see it!

Yup, like all cults, you have to follow your Dear Leader.

How much hotter would the coastal cities be during an ice-age? The parameters would put the water level 450 ft lower than it is today and they would be sheltered from the cold winds for the most part but her winds might the hurricane force if the water gets above 80F and the humidity might be equal to a steady drizzle of warm water

Ice 2 miles deep at NY, fine, what is the temp of the Gulf-stream 1 mile off shore? Perhaps the ice came from 'lake effect' snow storms where the wind is coming off the ocean and the upper flow is arctic outflow. Basically a hurricane rotating at twister speed and drifts 100 ft deep in places. The rest of the week is back to normal, icy cold above 400ft (sea level today), sweltering hot below that

Seems he could have said 'follow you, our Dear Leader'. You need to set an example or it will spread like a wild-fire of biblical proportions and, . . . ., well you get the picture.

Celsius please. We're not it the 18th Century anymore.

Apparently you are, and you alone, everybody else has the conversion ratio memorized.

Or stupid beyond belief.
We only persist because of the Gods. Overall we are not stupid, we,ve bean fukking things up for ever, it,s our assinged lot in life, celestial mechanics perhaps?Obviously we,re engaged in a test. Who will rule the Solar System? Personally I think us humans could, if we concentrated our think prevail over a wide outbreak of cataclysmic fukedupedness. If we just put our minds to it, clearly our forbearers triumphed in this regard. We have hung onto this planet more or less successfully to the point where we believe there has never been as many of us as there now is. There isn,t really many of us stupid.

We are perhaps just a random outbreak of _________________________________________________ civilization. Hang on brothers and sisters work will set you free, only work will set you free, free is expensive, HAHAHAHAHAHA.

Yep, nothing like criticizing a system of measurement that actually makes sense.[/Q

The brother aint with the math.

ACtually I can explain it. But then I actually have a basic understanding of science, unlike most opponents of AGW.

I'm binumeral. I can shift metric and imperial back and forth without a problem. However, I really see no point in holding on to a completely outmoded system of measurement. Forcing people to learn two different systems serves no purpose and is actually costly.

I like the global warming "debate." It distills political discourse down to its essence.

People line up on either side of an issue, according to their emotional quirks, and then start throwing cherry-picked facts at each other. The nice thing about "global warming" is the cherry-picked facts tend to be single numbers.

People like mentalfloss see every warm spell as proof positive of their entire position (I'd call it a theory, but it really don't deserve that name), and folk on the other side will see every cold snap as proof of theirs.

And each side will utterly ignore, or disparage, the other side's data.

Because the one and only thing the two sides agree on is they don't want to figure out what's going on. They want to win.

emotional quirks, AH yes, the informned, however it is getting colder, , solar minimum, cycle 25 I belive, the Eddy minimum they call it. Solar irradiatioin ain,t what it used to be, we gone freeze, I own vast acres of firewood.

Records are being snashed, however just mentioning the hot spots ain,t the whole picture, out of season cold, draught, water inundation etc etc, thr uninformable will be eliminated and some sort of harmonius existance will be established with climate reality, tis about time.

LOL, so science is believing in models that were known to be mathematically impossible from the beginning, eh...?
;)
...that will be news to actual scientists.

Hence the stupidity of changing from Fahrenheit to Celsius (Centigrade). I understand the basic science too and 20C = 68F and 37 C = 98.6F and the 9/5 ratio between the two and the fact it's so easy to convert between the two is further reason of the stupidity of f**king around with it in the first place.

Should the world change or should the lone hold-out, the US change? If you aren't smart enough to convert the numbers you should probably stay away from all forms of math. Considering all the effort the elite have put into wrecking the family structure and social moderates it would be just another mover to create as problem that never gets a solution.
Does the two system conflict now start to make sense about why it is there at all??

Well it is Global change ....neither warming nor cooling....the planet has done both many times.. Summers will be hotter and winters colder....It will be the bigger fires, stronger storms and more devastating earthquakes, just as earth was reaching an equilibrium. The dinnosaurs were taken care of by a sudden cooling caused by a space body. What will be our fate? Will ours be a combination of all disasters? Probably.

Would it be better if human life ended now to the benefit of the planet?
