BTW Boomer yes living on the island does come at a premium for many things, but real estate wise its a discount.

You can sell a place in Vancouver, buy the same place on the Island and pocket the change. If you move to Victoria you might only get couple hundred thou discount, but if you want to move up island you can get places for under $300K that are fantastic.

Nice pics Boomer! It's been awhile since I took that ferry to the Island as I used to live in Vancouver many moons ago. Would likely still be there but met hubby and moved back to Calgary, got married and well, the rest is history.


Last time I was on the island, my hubby and I were guests of my boss at his condo in Victoria so we flew direct - no ferry.

I sold a house in Parksville for $108,000, 19 years ago! Live in a better one now but it cost me $420,000.

That was the norm when the dump was below the Port Mann. Now Hwy 17 runs over the old dump that is still leaching toxins into the Fraser.

Had to laugh when Horgan was begging the Feds to legislate some kind of cap on gas in YVR.... I guess that the idea of eliminating 2 or 3 of the provincial/muni gas taxes was out of the question, eh?
