Pandering to what?
The Martian vote. What the f*ck do you think, dumbass.

Just when you thought the organization could not get any worse,,,, now we have this no-name women who has no special training in running a large organization is brought in because idiot boy has a thang for promoting femails,,, how rediculous!!
Ironically, she'd be more qualified to be PM than Trudeau is, if education and background are what's important for that position.
As far as her promotion goes, she's been a District Commander since 2009 and in 2016 became the Assistant Commissioner and has served 31 years with the RCMP. Add to that her degree from the U of Alberta Advanced Program in Management as well as being a graduate of the Asper School of Business. I think she's qualified for the position.

I'm sure she's a capable Mountie given her time and dedication. What I find troubling is the Prime Minister's fetish for pandering.

Gotta agree with your statement on her being more than capable.

Too bad that Trudeau used her for selfish ends rather than focus specifically on her simply being the best candidate... Kind of takes away from her a bit

Pandering to what?

try this

Yes, Eaglesmack should be very excited about this news now that he has fully completed his trannysition.

This is a positive step towards cleaning up this organisation and restoring public confidence in it.

The military could sorely use a once over as well. Maybe a female CDS could put the entire sexual harassment and abuse situation to rest there as well.

The Old Boys Clubs need to be demolished.

Why is the fact she is a woman either a positive or negative ?

Flossy is just being his same old, contrary self. He thinks he's being smart mouthed, but more and more people are ignoring him. He's not worth the time.

What are you talking about, what is the positive step??

No history of turning things around or of accomplishments.

I wonder how many women who are really intellectually and emotionally secure are really enthralled with Pretty boy having their backs. He's likely more of a liability than an asset!

This is what happens when you start to pander to a particular group, they stop relying on their own initiatives and start relying on the handouts from others.

In part this is part of the native problem, too much handout and not enough do-it-yourself and learn to sink or swim

Pander to a "particular group"? You mean women? ... who make up the majority of the human race? Insisting on male leadership is pandering to a minority group.

Leaders are the result of public opinion not simply special interest druthers. How did some gals achieve their goal(s) on their own initiative, Hazel the former mayor of mississauga needed no mans' crutch, on the contrary she gave many guys lessons on how you get things done. We could use a gal like her in ottawa.
Gals given jobs on a patronizing basis will of course expect continued pandering, why strive to excel when merit is passe, thankfully I'm sure many gals will ignore justyns' handouts preferring to paddle their own canoe.

I've always said there's an exception to every rule. Perhaps some of the Indians deserve a hand once in awhile. Many of them weren't exactly born with a "silver spoon" in their mouths..................................like Pretty Boy.

She was stationed in Edmonton for a bit and, apparently, was quite effective as the head honcho here. She has obviously worked hard to be where she is and, hopefully, was chosen not because she was a woman but because she was the best "personkind" and qualified for the job!!

Not to take anything away from the woman I hope she does well, but I'll bet she wasn't the "BEST".
Politically timed choices like this are seldom the best choice.
