Ford is far from going all electric. Keep in mind their top seller is the F150.

3 days of F150 production equals an entire year of production for all EVs by all companies.

Hoid can't be any older than 10 or 11.

I'm not sure what his age is but he sure doesn't listen to either his elders or his superiors. I've been trying to get through to him I've been around the block a time or two more than him. :) :)

Gasoline powered vehicles will be the majority for the rest of our life times, Pete, actually possibly for all life times on this forum!

Northern Ontario,
Remember when natural gas or propane powered vehicles came out, some years ago, because of the lack of refill stations only service vehicles around town switched to it, mainly forklifts because of the tax credit and pickups had to switch to gas when going out of town.
Same as the hybrids do now.....until they invent a ten minute charge station, it's a pipe dream!

When you can't go no more than 80km/40km (summer/winter) or you won't make it home, family vacations are gonna suck.

If I could I would. I looked into crushing my own oil seed to make biodiesel but you need to follow indentical operational and environmental requirements and approvals as an oil refinery.

I kinda like having insurance so that idea was tanked.

CNG or LNG is being seriously considered. It works out to about 13 cents a liter.

Phill home, home system CNG refueling vehicles

It's too small for commercial vehicles of size but perfect for the home.

You'd have to drive a gosh awful lot to recoup the $10K for CNG conversion and a home fill unit.

Ontario is offering to cover 80 per cent of the cost of installing electric vehicle charging stations for companies and commercial building owners as the province tries to expand its charging infrastructure.

The program, announced today, will cover most of the capital costs of installing Level 2 charging stations, which take between four and eight hours to fully charge an electric vehicle.

Employers and commercial building owners could get up to $7,500 per charging space.

The Liberal government has earmarked up to $5 million for the program out of cap-and-trade auction revenues.

It says there are more than 1,300 public chargers operating in the province, though that includes just two-thirds of 500 stations promised by March 31, 2017 under a $20-million Electric Vehicle Chargers Ontario program.

The government says an incentive program for home charging stations has doled out about $2.2 million since January 2013 for nearly 2,600 chargers.

Interesting article in the news yesterday that could kill the viability of electric cars. Seems there is 21kg of cobalt in their batteries. Due to recent sales cobalt has now risen in price from $600 per battery to $1700 per battery. Before taxes and fees.
If the price of gas rose like that there would be a revolution.

Also have to live where there is NG. I would have to carry it 8km in a bucket.

Not a pipedream, just not up to par for mass consumption yet.

Proving that electric vehicles can only survive with massive taxpayer subsidies.

Great, 2 charging stations that can, at very most, charge up 4 vehicles in any given 8 hour period.

Won't do much good for a work setting that has a couple hundred employees, unless the company has a mandatory carpooling policy of 25 people per EV
