Sorry but it certainly is. When the population shrinks and gets older, that is when an influx immigrants is needed. Also, givng the rich a break because wealth trickles down is proven wrong. By boosting the taxes on the middle class it is rapidly devolving into the poor class. It is far worse in the US where they have done that for years. Do only the rich deserve to live well, retire at 65 and have a few safety nets?? You know like decent affordable health care, and a viable pension?

Remember when they used to tell us that automation would free humans up for more leisure and creative endeavors? Remember the slogan "better living through chemistry"? How we doing so far?
Anyone who is on pharmaceuticals is a druggie. What happened to automation freeing us up? Do you think the 1% wants to share the profits gained by automation want to feed the "useless feeders"? Why do you think the 1% has been hording 90% of the world's wealth? Does that translate as sharing with the rest of us? That's one of the problems with semantics! Quite often they don't mean anything. I am on half a dozen prescribed drugs, all but one are for preventative measures and have absolutely no affect on my physical or mental performance.
Simply by increasing the working class through immigration. Remember instead of having 20 children and more and dropping that down to 1 or 2 and often none over in just a generation or two and we have a huge older generation. How do you propose to change that? Kill off all the old people??? Because through modern medicine we are living longer, does;t mean we will be in great enough shape to fill the gap with just two years. However, many of the immigrants have two and three children who in 15 to 20 years will also be wage earners, Furthermore, it relieves the world over-population in some parts and fills the losses we have.
Those who are still working up to their retirement years need to consider that with the diminishing tax payers more than just the pensions are at risk. All the social programs most people take for granted will have to be cut.

Under NAFTA Cami is moving auto manufacturing from Canada to Mexico because Mexicans work cheap. This is after receiving every tax benefit Ontario and Ottawa could think to give them. This is after the government enables them to lay people off whenever they want by waiving the waiting periods for EI for laid off auto workers.

I present here some comments made by some professor whose arrogance is so great he lacks even basic understanding of democracy. I include some comments of my own in brackets). The `prof` comments on his interpretation of `unjust laws`-the `prof` says:

Second the TPP which allows foreign corporations to sue Canada for violating trade agreements over and above the constitution and if there's a nuclear leak or some shit - and you try to protect nature - guess who's going to jail?

REALITY is this: the trade deal is not pretty but it IS important. It ain’t pretty, but the border is still open to us-and even Chretien saw the truth.)
Third segregation and any subsequent 'colour blind' administration of racist laws, such as the 'public amusements act', which were supposedly applied to all - but used to enforce segregation. I'm not going to get into them - but that's how racism operates in Canada using 'colour/gender/etc. blind' laws which are known to have a deleterious effect on equity.
(This-`public amusement act`is a reference to obscure and long discredited and now either REPEALED entirely or NOT ENFORCED legislation designed to control gambling houses and brothels and carnivals with RIGGED games of chance, etc! And how long has it been since segregation was a part of Cdn landscape? These laws date back to the 19th century and were mainly written by U.S. southern states. However there are Cdn counterparts that date roughly to the 1920`s and 1930`s. Much of this stuff relates to the `prohibition era` and the Great Depression when people were desperate to earn a dime by any means and these laws made it easier to control traveling carnivals and gambling dens and fraudulent `revivalist` religious groups-think of that famous fake and whoremaster from Hollywood-Elmer Gantry! Such laws also were handy for dealing with snake oil salesmen marketing dangerous `miracle` cures for all manner of things.)
A perfect example of that (Prof means Public Amusement Act) in recent memory has been bathhouse raids of the 80s and 2000s (against men and women, respectively) and marijuana raids. Everyone smokes weed, we know the law is obsolete - yet it is still enforced.
(How arrogant of the prof that he sees all history ONLY through HIS lense-Toronto the Good was once seriously hostile to public sexual acts-whether between male/female or male/male or female/female-it was all considered lewd and disgraceful and unsuitable for our good city-the majority view at the time! Again, in democracy the will of the Majority prevails-unless you are a spoiled union Hog like the Prof!)
(In addition, the shutting down of the bath houses was considered to be a blow against the spread of venereal disease. The fear of STD`s was a holdover from that older generation of people just getting accustomed to the idea that penicillin MIGHT CURE std`s. Prior to 1945, catching Syphilis was a death sentence! And catching Gonorrhea was a guarantee of sterility- no kids for you! And of course once we get to the 1980`s we see the rise of Aids-ANOTHER std with a death sentence tied to it! No matter that 45 years later, a massive and costly cocktail of drugs can now greatly extend the life of an Aids sufferer-this std is STILL a major threat! This is why people who have Aids and continue to have unprotected sex with un-informed partners are ARRESTED and charged with assault! We have more medical options than our ancestors and it is MODERN bigotry to judge them by OUR standards!)
(As for smoking weed-the jury is still divided on this-we don’t want our kids to be happy stoners-if they are too young to smoke cigarettes then they are also too young for weed. Further-many people will agree that there is little harm in an adult sitting on as couch on a Saturday evening-with work week done-having a little smoke up but will strongly draw the line at letting kids toke up before heading to school!)
(Most people are disgusted by the sight of a company employee furiously toking up in the parking lot 15 minutes before the start of a work shift! We do not want some happy stoner throwing our costly new air conditioner together any old way. We don’t want a goofy stoner tinkering with the steering components of the school bus our child will be riding in. And we certainly don’t want the brakes on that tractor trailer that is riding our bumper on 401 to have been slapped into place by somebody with a “What? Me worry?” Kind of attitude! This is a BIG REASON why so many Cdns buy cars made in Asia-ones made by attentive/SOBER people who are out performing North American auto workers who apparently think that being drunk or stoned on the job is no concern of their boss!)

SO why is that of the Cdns who retire voluntarily before age 65- TWO THIRDS are civil service Hogs?
And why is it that LIE-berals INSIST that you retired `voluntarily` if you accepted a buy out that you figured was a little better than waiting till you got THROWN OUT THE DOOR WITH NOTHING?

Here is a thought- of that sort that LIE-berals NEVER want to think- nor do they wish to publicly discuss it either! The question is this:
"Lets compare two hypothetical immigrants:
Immigrant one is from a third world country that believes implicitly in capitalism and democracy and recognizes that these values are the reason for western succes and this immigrant is delighted to have the opportunity to dig into the Cdn dream- this immigrant will have facility in at least one of our official languages- will have educational qualifications that are recognized by Cdn authorities and will prize living in a country where they can practice their religion without interference or prejudice- this immigrant will send their kids to school with the instruction to DO WELL and study hard so you will have a good life!
Immigrant two is also from a third world country- carries a chip on their shoulder over Imperialism and racism- does not speak either of our official languages- does not have any real education- may have papers claiming training in some discipline but Cdn officials cannot verify that- believes that lack of success in his life is probably the result of "systemic racism"- will send his kid to school with a basket ball and foster the kids dream of being some sort of gangsta ranting about rotten white people- will support and tend to his kids maybe- will practice a religion that requires US to conform to HIS values, morals and beliefs- will use his vote to mess up our trade with Yankees and will poison our relations with traditional allies- will vote for lunatic politicians who think that bribing people to like them is a better way to run a country than going to the bother off producing valid, logical, policy!
So the fun question is this: WHICH IMMIGRANT will be more popular and do better in Canada?

You may want to get your facts straight before you go running off at the mouth about something you know very little about.
Nobody with the Civil Service gets a full pension that hasn't worked a full 35 years and even those who have worked 35 years have a hard time making ends meet unless they've made some voluntary savings like R.R.S.P.s. Maybe do some research before you go shooting off your trap. Not every Civil Service employee is a doctor, lawyer, nurse or judge.
So I assume that you prefer retirement age to go to 75 or death as it used to be?
