What is wrong with a two tier health system?

It's not free but you keep on believing that.
I take that back. Assuming you're Canadian, you're not paying. And it's free to me.

Here's a hint, amigo. Why don't you ask some questions and figure out what I'm talking about before you go making pronouncements based on ignorance.

So, if I should have to pay for you then I should be able to get to the front of the line by paying for my own insurance. After all, you are happy waiting for crappy healthcare.
Well, aside from the fact that, as I said, you don't pay for my health care if you're Canadian, you can go to the front of any line you like. My health care provider won't treat you. All insisting will get you is a night in jail and a hefty fine. So stick you "should" in your pipe and smoke it.

If Canada ever does get two tier healthcare, those of us that can afford our own insurance should see a drop in our tax rate while losers like you should get a rise in your tax rate, meaning you'll have to finally get a job. THE HORROR
As I said, Canada already has a two tier system. You just want it formalized and cheaper for you.

I see you're fond of declaring how things "should" be, with no reasoning behind it other than "AMSniffler wants it that way."

You eat a lot of paint chips when you were a kid?

you're making quite the assumptions today
How so?

PS, SE Asia is truly remarkable for healthcare, particularly primary.
Sure, but you can get decent primary in Canuckistan. It's the specialty stuff that's better elsewhere.

I pay more for a day's parking here than I do for a Dr to come to my location and do the work
I pay more for brown shoes than I do for all my health care (I don't wear brown shoes).

Make no mistake, it's not an issue of quality here, but more of an issue of being readily accessible. Wait times for specialists or surgery (particularly elective) is horrendous.

The element of Canada's 2 tier healthcare is, ironically, not based on cash but more along the lines of who you know... Want faster access to a specialist/surgeon, get to know one of their friends, especially one that ends up as a referring physician.

Sh*t gets done a lot faster that way

No different than the US, Canada's costs on the delivery of healthcare services is extremely expensive. I mentioned Thailand where $30-$40 buys you a house call with thorough physical on your schedule including 1 doc and an assistant.... I can easily pay that amount if I had to change lots more than once in a day.

With CAD costs in mind, many couldn't afford brown shoes, especially if they didn't wear them

I pay over $12,000 of Canadian taxes per year to get shoddy healthcare.

It may be free for an unemployable loser like yourself but the rest of us gotta pay for you.

If I didn't have to pay such high taxes for shoddy healthcare for you, I'd be able to afford mine and my family's private medical insurance.

I'm a Canadian citizen, so why should I have to go elsewhere to get better healthcare? I should be able to get it here.

I pay not a leaden centavo to get very good health care. And you call me a loser. Heh-heh.

Wrong again.

For the third time, you don't pay taxes for my health care at all. I'm American. Live in Maryland, just outside of Washington DC. American taxpayers pay for my health care.

You're remarkably slow on the uptake.

We also pay a huge amount of taxes but don't get all round health coverage like dental, eyecare and physiotherapy.

Bark at your Province. They are your providers.

I get great health care. I'm obviously not dead.

As if politicians give a crap, especially Ontario politicians. They just want the revenue stream to supply the losers that vote for them.

He also has anger issues. While living in Onterrible can be difficult, I prefer it to other places on the planet. I get the feeling that AMKiller is younger. Because he lives around Toronto, he also feels that he is entitled to any healthcare he or his family requires. That has never been the case anywhere in Canada.

I reserve judgment on that, pending more evidence.

I cut my fingers a month ago. My wife phoned my Dr which is 2 blocks away and by the time I walked there she had the treatment room ready for when I walked in. 15 mins later I was back to butchering. I didn't die.

How is that?
