We have been pretty lucky here on Vancouver Island no major fires or storms but that could change in a blink of an eye so it's really starting to scare me. About the only good thing to some of the fires is after a forest fire wild edible mushrooms start growing and pickers are finding so many that the price for them is dropping and soon instead of paying $12 a pound they will be 80 cents a pound. Cheers!

That's what they do in Galveston.
The bottom could be made into an enclosed space and lift the walls to the deck during the 'rare' storm. How about 12' down if you are in twister country??

But the sky is looking good, Boomer! :)

We've almost clears skies. Hard to see with the foest fire smoke though.

Althouh I shouldn't bitch about the smoke cause without it it would have been blistering hot.

I couldn't tell through all the smoke.

Always was an environmentalist - just felt that technology and science should drive the changes, not the government with climate taxes and disadvantages for Canadian businesses or capping our resources...

Tesla, new wind and solar farms... new solar tiles, and so on.. it's happening slowly...

Irma and Harvey should kill any doubt whether climate change is real
Big oil is also big natural gas and they want you to pay for the conversion so they can save oil for chemicals, plastics, and coal for making steel.

Stupid people that live on a flood plain. I was in Dawson Creek one summer and the creek rose 15 ft. overnight.Nothing unusual at all.

Yep, seen that the first time we camped in Dawson Creek one July about 40 years ago!

And I took a dump.... Seems like a typical day to me.

Part of the sky fell I think.... But otherwise normal.

I suppose that Solar Flare can be blamed on Global Warming too? Cuz that's how it works

Everyone’s entitled to a stupid post once in awhile, but you really abuse the privilege.

Uh huh.... So how about that Solar Flare?

Global Warming did that??

Come on now, don't ignore the question.... No matter what you reply with, you already stuck yourself into the Stupid Post Hole.

If you say No, then why did you bring it up other than to stupidly try and make your argument worse than it already was?

If you say Yes then the stupid post award goes to you.

If you come back with another pointless trivial quip my way and/or ignore the question, then you only confirm what I and everybody else thinks..... So the stupid post award still goes to you.

So go ahead.... Make my day and reply with whatever you please. The end result remains the same.

My hands wait in anticipation for your rewarded Golf Clap.

That's what they do in Galveston.

The coast of Queensland too. Mind you there is another reason and that is the design helps to keep the house cool without air conditioning. The problem with the design is that in a really powerful hurricane the house ends up being kindling.

Just keep your fingers crossed. Back in 1700 there was an earthquake that measured about 9 on the Richter Scale and you're past due for another one of similar intensity. I'd keep to the high ground! :) :)

Earth is a dynamic planet, that's what makes it livable for human beings.

Some folks just can't get their head around that reality

There is nothing worse than an old sinner who has just found religion...
He spends all his time trying to convert and harass everyone he meets....

just like reformed smokers

Well blue sky's up by Edson AB

Love the Edson/Hinton area.

If you ever get the chance, you can head North from Edson through Silver Summit area (all dirt/gravel roads) and drive straight through to Fox Creek.

By far and away, one of the most scenic and beautiful drives anyone could hope for
