Did Reza Aslan "tell it like it is" and call Obama a piece of shit and an embarrassment to humanity when he banned travel from those same countries? No? Gosh, I wonder why? Was Obama a piece of shit and an embarrassment to humanity when he was basically dropping an average of 1 bomb every 20 minutes on those same countries? Obama not only bombed those countries, he refused to allow travel to the US from those countries while he was bombing them.

The thing with many reporters now is that they feel they can be rude and opinionated, when neither is in their job description. It might just be the influence of shock TV - Springer, Dr Phil, etc. that helped reduce the quality of the broadcast and the conduct of the staff.
Personally, I appreciate professionalism over shock. Many of the news people act like spoiled children.
Ah ha! Something else we have in common, IRBS - I too watch Forensic Files. I wish they'd get a bigger audience though - maybe then they could come up with some new cases. I seen the same ones so many times now, I can tell from the opening scenes exactly what happened, when, how, who, and the science that helped solve the case. We need some new material. :smile:
I agree, Murphy. On the very odd occasion when I want to hear what is happening south of our border, I watch PBS. It is so refreshing to watch and listen to people who don't have an attitude and are able to deliver the news without all the nuances that seem to plague newscasters today.
A few months back, I chatted with the program director of BRT (Broadcast Radio and Television) for Conestoga College in Kitchener. He told me that they are not taught to be rude and pushy.
Paraphrased, there's more than one way to probe for the truth. Making the interviewee uncomfortable is a hindrance. You can still be polite, but get at the truth.
It seems that, as apprentices, they are not getting the proper training from journeyman news people.
