That's because friendliness was supposed to be their schtick. What do they do now that they've lost the monopoly?
Rejoice that we now live in a better world. Still more work to do. Some day being nice won't just be a personality trait of the Conservative party leader, but actually inform his policy.
A tad early to attack him in earnest. He hasn't really had an impact on the party yet, and the federal election is too far away.
The Liberals are waiting (Conservatives too) to see what the updated official platform will be. See which items Scheer wants to see targeted. That's when you launch into him.

Scared? Hardly. The Cons have chosen a complete lightweight, practically guaranteeing the Liberals another victory.
The Media has probably got enough other shit on their plate right now what with Trump, Pretty Boy and Theresa May and Pukin!
