Actually I have to amend that, having been a BC Liberal for close on 20 years and we are not offended by nor opposed to free speech. There actually is such a thing as alternate facts.
Alternate facts is when two opposing sides of a controversy cite instances and declare them to be fact even though neither side has been proven beyond a doubt. . Like Creation vs. Evolution or global warming created by humans or by nature.
Alternate facts are a factor in court proceedings when an accused is found guilty on circumstantial evidence,
In all such cases the 'fact' is whatever the listener/reader thinks is most likely to be true. But nothing, absolutely nothing is ever a fact unless there is concrete proof that it is true. Like 2 + 2 = 4; THAT is an actual fact.
