Truman's 'The buck stops here' is a fine old saying. I think Government needs a new saying; 'The BS starts here' would be good.
If you watched the meeting at the White House today there was lots of praise, compliments and professed good will tossed about. But does anybody REALLY believe that Obama and Trump don't hate each others guts?
There's where the trouble starts. As soon as the guy gets to the top position, he has to say the right things to please and not offend anyone. It's a short step from hypocrisy to the rest of the deception and duplicity that takes place in high places.

I think Trump's handlers are pushing this right now in order to placate the general public and appear all presidential and inclusive. The real test will be after the inauguration when Trump has the ability to implement policy. We will see if he sticks to his promises or becomes another hypocritical puppet.
It may show sooner than that when we start hearing about who is getting appointed to which positions in the administration. If he starts appointing those beholden to the status quo establishment it will signify business as usual in Washington. If he brings in lots of new blood we will probably see the start of the much needed changes to the system.

Our income would be from renting out the high ground on Baffin Island as the depot for our missiles and such. No need to fear invasion from the south anymore and Russia has enough tundra so Britain would be the closest foe and the north is too cold for them to do anything longer than the record book things and then never would just as soon never return as long as the new taxes were paid on time and in full.
As punishment we should make the lowest 300 miles from the US border join the US and Canada can get back to what we have always done best, Nothing for at least half of the time.

Haha! If the lower 300 miles from the U.S. border went to the U.S. there would be a VERY small population in Canada. Canada would be nothing but rocks, lakes and trees, moose and polar bears.

If the lower 300 miles of Canada "went" to the US, it would be the result of a military invasion and annexation. I wonder what trumped up reason will be used? "We had to so that them Kinaydeyans would finally know some freedom"

It will be recalled that the Tea Baggers protested against Obama when he was elected. Some of their actions were violent and others down right racist as we have discussed on this forum before. If it is OK for the right to do so, then it is equally OK for all others to do the same.
