Kill NG?? Wow that seems a tad foolish considering how cheap it is at the moment and the only drawback is a new line would be needed.
Going electric is fine as long as Alberta doesn't have to foot the bill for the cost of that transition which would include a few new centrally located power stations rather than each place having a 'fat boy' of NG in reserve just in case there is a disruption in supply. That means the cost isn't part of the spreadsheet that sets what the transfer payments are.

It will be interesting to see just how Ontario cuts use while the yearly climate indicates a longer winter. An electric car and a blizzard, wonderful combination. NG fueled car and blizzard= impromptu fondoo.

ES you should look at the pile of cash the US already burns through needlessly before you use the term 'all that money' as it is a small pile rather than a large one. Just what have you been fed in the past???

Ontario is a welfare Province already adding more debt will solve that how?? That still leaves the other welfare Province, Quebec, needing imports or NG from the west so they would need a pipeline that Ontario doesn't use but gets paid as it crosses their Province

A Sterling engine in every yard would need as much NG as a pilot light used to use before they went on a timer. A few candles should the gas quit.

Small wonder Premier Kathleen Wynne is in Israel this week.

That’s where I’d want to be if my so-called Climate Change Action Plan was leaked to the Globe and Mail Monday.

According to its report, Wynne writes in the preamble of the 57-page document, officially still being debated by cabinet: “We are on the cusp of a once-in-a-lifetime transformation. It’s a transformation of how we look at our planet and the impact we have on it. It’s a transformation that will forever change how we live, work, play and move.”

You bet. Because this plan setting out Ontario’s energy future to 2050 will hurl millions of Ontarians into energy poverty and the poorhouse, without lowering greenhouse gas emissions linked to climate change.
