Habitual marijuana use will cause depression
Habitual, long term HEAVY use can cause depression. However, it's also been used to treat depression as well.,
Nope. That's usually with newbies. Over time the 'noids go away.
obsessive compulsive disorders,
I've never known anyone who ended up with OCD from smoking. I've seen it prescribed to help with OCD though.
Because it's still currently illegal. In fact marijuana is a rather social substance, even more so than alcohol.
lethargy, withdrawal from academic and occupational pursuits, especially for young people.
Yeah, because it's going to be legal for those 13 and over. Give your head a shake.
Ultimately it will lead to psychosis.
Absolutely no guarantee it will though.
It is a profoundly disassociative drug without one single proven medical benefit.
Bullsh*t. The medical benefits have been well documented. Even certain compounds that have nothing to do with getting you high have proven to be medically beneficial.
It derails lives. Only a vacuous little twit like Justin Trudeau believes legalizing this will do anything but disrupt the lives of vulnerable young people.
Only a vacuous twit would think that the current system isn't already disrupting the lives of young people, vulnerable or not.
Fun Facts: 10 years after Portugal went de facto legalization of marijuana, drug ODs have dropped by 50%, alcohol related incidents have decreased, overall drug use has decreased dramatically except for marijuana which saw a corresponding increase in its use upon being legalized, but what's significant is that marijuana use by minors actually decreased as well. Not by a lot, but it did go down.
They also substantially increased the sentences for those operating grow ops and for those who are manufacturing and distributing real drugs. Legalization has cut down on policing costs, court costs, jail/prison costs and health care costs.
Finally, marijuana is BIG, BIG money for organized crime. Despite the fact that the other drugs sell for more money, it's the volume of sales that make marijuana so lucrative for organized crime. Legalization would slap the financial sh*t out of them.
I've also done the math. It costs about the same to produce one cigarette as it costs to produce 1 gram of weed. For comparison, one king size cigarette contains 2/3 of a gram of tobacco. Now, starting at the same initial price point as a pack of cigarettes
before the added taxes, the govt could tax marijuana at 5 times the rate of tobacco and still bring the price in at around 25%-33% of current street prices.
The govt makes money, the police can utilize their funding for dealing with real crimes and criminals, court costs will go down as will the cost of incarcerations, and people who do smoke will be able to spend more of their money on other stuff because of a price reduction of 66%-75% for marijuana. IF the govt is smart about it.
