I've been involved in helping host a few public events over the years. It was generally accepted that we were responsible for purchasing liability insurance to cover any unforeseen mishaps that may arise out of the event. How is the UofA situation any different? The need for security wouldn't exist without the "educational display".

Having been involved in large scale events on public properties involving hundreds of teens. I can tell you I have never seen a liability cost that high.

Not that that has anything to do with putting up an educational display on public grounds.
