Molly doesn't cause you to wig out in anger.

Molly causes you to be happy...content...contemplative even.

But no body on molly is going to be carrying around a nice for use on another living thing.

Was he going to throw the knife and seriously hurt them?

Seems they were far enough away from him that had he lunched they'd have had plenty to taser him..why shoot?

The last bit about looking like he was going to get back up again...

pfsssh! Cops need proper training. Clearly they haven't got it.

I think it is clear the cop is/was wrong. He used excessive force to bring down a scumbag that was trapped and only armed with a knife. He has been found guilty and will serve the appropriate sentence (average is 13 years in Ontario). Given this is his first offense and likely won't re-offend, it may be less. Several people have mentioned that sentencing should not be about vengeance but rehabilitation. So how much does this gentleman need to not re-offend?

Anything less than life is too little.

I think he should get the death sentence.

Really? You shouldn't say things on the internet that you aren't willing to say in public.
Or maybe it's just that you two don't know what you are talking about?
Ya, probably that's the case.

They convicted him of attempted murder not because Yatim wasn't a potential threat or that Forcillo shot him dead.
They convicted him of shooting Yatim six more times after he fell down dead.
They felt that at that point Forcillo was trying to kill Yatim, not stop an imminent threat.

I don't have an issue necessarily with police discharging their firearm at someone wielding a knife. I am not going to judge the threat assessments made when I've never been in that situation. Continuing to fire after someone is down though doesn't seem to me to be the mark of a trained professional. I have to think either their weapons or psychological training, or both, is insufficient for someone in their position.

Indeed. He's a young lad and panic got the best of him.

It dumps all your serotonin in one shot which makes you happy for a short time then a huge ugly crash causing depression and rage. For chronic abusers like analfloss the production of serotonin can be permanently compromised.

MDMA affects the brain by increasing the activity of at least three neurotransmitters (the chemical messengers of brain cells): serotonin, dopamine, and norepinephrine.5 Like other amphetamines, MDMA causes these neurotransmitters to be released from their storage sites in neurons, resulting in increased neurotransmitter activity. Compared to the very potent stimulant, methamphetamine, MDMA causes greater serotonin release and somewhat lesser dopamine release.17 Serotonin is a neurotransmitter that plays an important role in the regulation of mood, sleep, pain, appetite, and other behaviors. The excess release of serotonin by MDMA likely causes the mood elevating effects experienced by MDMA users. However, by releasing large amounts of serotonin, MDMA causes the brain to become significantly depleted of this important neurotransmitter, contributing to the negative behavioral aftereffects that users often experience for several days after taking MDMA.18

Lets see not guilty of second degree but attempted murder even
though the guy died. Hmmm people making excuses for our
beloved police. There was no need to do what they did. Should
have been a real punishment. Sure is quiet lately too as the media
social and other wise is silent on the misbehavior of cops in general
This is not an appropriate sentence if he had a gun yes a knife get
real.

oh well.

He looks deranged to me, and becausse of my years of police training I can stop him with one in his foot. Size ten is easy to hit at two meters. The officers waste of ammo bespeaks bezerker. He looks fetal alacohal to me. I think the officer is a nasty specimin.

Northern Ontario,
In hunting big game we used to call it "Buck fever"
It occurs not only when you miss an obvious easy shot.....but more often if you keep shooting after the moose is down until your firearm is empty!

Cops never shoot to wound. Center of mass blowing your sternum into itty bitty pieces that tear apart the heart and lungs.

Well there you have the restored order, efficiently delivered by a a lover of order.

Naah... the beav would have probably shot the knife out of his hand and he wouldn't have even needed a Band-Aid!

I wouldn't have raised my weapon, I would have slowly calmly light a joint and calmed the bus down. You wouldn't have heard anything about it.
CBC sucks

Tell that to the jury which made those convictions.
