Why leaving Canada makes sense for Alberta, and U.S. would likely welcome a new state

I'm the result of being here for decades, the loonies come from out of province. I can't remember the last time I got into a fight with a barber for any reason and I certainly don't advocate killing children so they don't have to be killed later, so really that kind of shows your moral character as being about the same as Bloomers. Not a big shock really, I just hope you two never mate .

Nope, its tearing the country apart - which is treason.

You're just pissed because you live in Ottawa and won't be able to enjoy being a US Citizen...

Borders change all the time, look at Crimea, look at the changes after Russia tore down the wall..

Alberta has more in common with the USA than Canada...

Don't think US politicians and big money wouldn't support Alberta succession, they would welcome it..

I mean lets be adults here, Canada's military is a joke, up against any real threat like Russia or China we would be pwnd.

Sure the Liberals love to pull the NATO card or The USA wouldn't allow it.. and there is the problem. What a county that can't even defend itself, needs its big brother to fight its battles.

Someday the USA will just roll over and take Canada for its resources and most importantly, our water.

Boomer, why don't you just move to Texas? "Our water"? Where and when did you get that?

The only water Bloomer is interested in is 'well water'. Tastes good to him but the toilet seat keeps hitting him in the back of the head.

Why does the USA want water? California? Nevada? If CA wants water it should put people to work building desalination plants (with fed help, of course).
If people had not emptied the springs in NV in the first place, there would be water there and they would not have had to start sucking the Colorado River dry. The levels in Lake Mead have been dropping steadily for a decade or so. So now, Vegas is wanting to drain the Great Basin, which would result in the rural life of eastern NV becoming desolate. Then after that, what? Canada, of course. Big pipeline.
Pushing regions past the point of sustained regeneration of habitats is extreme stupidity and extreme myopia at their finest.

Las Vegas has a
water clock:

For Want of Water - Topics - Las Vegas Sun News

And to make matters worse, it appears the water delivery systems seem to have 1 foot in the grave and the other on a banana peel:

U.S. Needs $1 Trillion in Water System Upgrades

But, I really doubt that albertans want to become citizens of the USA. It is Bloomer's pipedream.
