Don't pay attention to polls!

The only one that matters is the election!

I like the CPC so stop hurting our chances by looking at these polls!

Whatever your excuse was before the election, you can be rest assured that it was verifiably wrong.

How the polls and the projections did
ThreeHundredEight.com
The 2015 federal election was a success for the polling industry, with the results of the election within the margins of error for most of the pollsters. The results were certainly better than in 2011, when the polls were not pointing to a Conservative majority government. The polls in this campaign did not seem to be pointing towards a Liberal majority government either, but that was because the seat projections were bamboozled by a growing and changing Liberal voting base.

So let's get down to it.

There was a late surge for the Liberals that pushed them over the top, but some of the polls that had older data (even only a few days old) were not able to capture the wave that pushed them from between 35% and 38% to the 39.5% the party actually got. For that reason, the vote projection was also lagging a little bit. Nevertheless, it still painted an accurate picture of what was going on, particularly when considering the likely ranges.

The ground was changing by the hour not the day and from Thanksgiving day on
It was a landslide of movement. People had a choice stay with their party of choice
or vote in a block to get rid of the Tories. Get Harper (could be a movie title) became
the main objective. The young were not really part of the polling factor either as
social media and polling have not found a path to communicate.
Colleges Universities and trade schools saw real effort to get their young vote involved.
Once they did they expressed what Canada is about.

1 social programs being strengthened
2 diversity embraced not divided
3 Canada as a peace keeper not war monger
4 The environment has a place at the table
Canada should be there
5 Tax money should go to those who need it
not the billionaires and the rich should pay
their share
6 The arrogance and rude behavior of politicians
is not celebrated it is to be condemned

The polls could not keep up with the swings in marginal riding's
and with the number of candidates or the number of Tories
leaving their own party in some places

You and Sleepy, and maybe the odd other Con, seem to be the only ones complaining.

Here we go. The buildup to dozens upon dozens of threads about the "Liberals" being goddesses and gods.

hmmmm.... Ok.... Maybe the forum should be flooded with multiple threads about the same topic.
snap!

I am so tempted to do such a thing but I don't want to screw up the forum front page like Flossy has.

How many threads do you need about the election? Aren't there enough threads available at this point so he can get his fill of trolling?

Maybe we need a thread about each NHL Team?

The one at the bottom should be the Maple Leafs.

Most of us will readily admit to trolling at times......
What is hypocritical, is those pretend intellectuals, claiming moral superiority who find all kinds of excuses to do the same thing and flood the forum.....posting the same subject mater........methinks they just like to see their name in print if their books aren't selling or they don't get enough views on twitter or facebook!

Actually, the pollsters were not correct. They had Liberal plurality but nobody was saying majority before Monday night. Of course some have after the fact claimed they said it but since they didn't waive their hands before, I find it difficult to believe them.

Great idea, Eagle...............how about one for each of the NBA, NFL,CFL, Canadian and American Skaters, Curlers, Bowlers..............

There's another one that needs to be shown the door.

Oh you betcha,Cliffy. Don't poop your drawers, as you well know I am a conservative federally............but I am very seriously considering voting for the Green Party in our next election................I have lived here long enough and through enough different permutations of basically the same parties that in the end all turn out to be, if not quite as bad as the previous government than little better. Time to give the new kids a try.
