yes will miss him & his witt, listened for years sunday pm to his program...loved it.along with others on the network....shame no one to replace him....so much for cbc...

I always found what Rex had to say. However, I had trouble listening to him. Not that my voice is so easy to listen to, it just seems that he is talking with marbles in his mouth.

Rex is ok.
I didn't catch very much of him as I was a teen back then, but I think I liked Jack Webster more. I actually met him at a Front Page Challenge show and there was a dinner party afterwards. Nice guy, pretty curt but good wit.

My pet peeve about Rex was his long winded opening where he invariably framed the entire show map so you could see the traffic he would allow and the ultimate destination. The man was a steering wheel.

I think he was adept at distinguishing between who had something to say and who had to say something and adept at dropping the latter tactfully.
