Under the new rules can't Canada yank their passports onve they are south of the border. Perhaps Canada could also take up the practice of sending our prisoners across the border and then declare them a terrorist? (that is what Kiev is doning in the POW sawps so it must be legal, right?

" Though in all fairness, everyone, including U.S. citizens, must also pay the new entry fee when travelling from anywhere in the world." - Case closed!

So wait a second here, the morons in DC expect people to PAY for the privilege of spending money in their crappy country? Wow, that was well thought out.

What if I want to go to Mexico, can I go by freighter if I never get off at any US port?

That might be the only way they can get money, when the only shelves that are full are the Bars and the Pharmacies what else will your money be good for?

Go by car, lock yourself in the trunk (with supplies)and when it is opened in Mexico for insoectiony declare yourself an person who country has abandoned you except for monthly pension checks.

DO people often drag old threads out of mothballs here?

Anyways, we haven't been across the border since all this border stuff started. We used to wander over and shop n visit relatives a half dozen times a year. Now we phone relatives and shop locally.

I haven't been down there since we moved out of Grand Forks 6 years ago but I must admit I really miss our trips to the states. Family situations, health issues and distance has kind of precluded it. Finances too, to a certain extent. Medical insurance for travel abroad isn't getting any cheaper. I'm not fussy about paying to get into the country but I feel I've always paid my fair share once I get in the country.

Which is worse, resurrecting old threads or starting up new ones covering the same thing? I would opt for the former so you can easily see what's already been submitted. :)

No charge via car. I am sure you wouldn't even notice a $5.50 charge on your plane ticket next to all the fees and taxes and surcharges already there.

Yes, in my opinion.

Sheesh, I can understand how I caused confusion. Perhaps my grammar needs some attention. :)

You were asking the question in the negative and answering in the positive. If you take exactly what you posted, you said it was best to start a new thread because you get to read what has already been said. Had you changed the word to better, your post would have made sense.

Oh well. If we head south again, it'll likely be by plane anyway, and we'll skip the US and MX. I want to see more of South Am.

Which I quickly realized in hind sight. :) I do those things from time to time, sometimes in mid stream I find myself switching from the singular to the plural and vice versa. It's called old age. Everyone gets it if they live long enough. :)

What is the justification? Will they provide a express lane at least? Canada should reciprocate and charge a $20 entry fee into Canada since at least 20 times more Yanks come to Canada than vice versa.
