Yes, exactly...But hunting for food is not necessary in Canada, these days. It is attitudes like yours that scares the bejeezus out of me. Who gets to decide who is useless and who is not?? I prefer the law to choose, not someone who just happens to be fondling his/her gun when a perceived "useless person comes on the scene"

James, Don't keep making stupid comments.

Surely, after all this time there are some around who actually read and understand my points.

However, I will once more state my position. I do not care if you own a gun, go hunting, do target shooting, or want to protect the young sweet virgin on the next block from getting beaten or raped. All most moderates want, is not to change CANADA's type of gun control. There is a reason why gun deaths are so much higher per capita in the US to Canada.

Frankly BOOmer, I don't give a rat's *** if you want to live in a country with more access to guns and bullets than you have here. Why not just move to one of those 10 best countries for Gun Owners. Personally I prefer a country whose aim is a little broader.....like laws that make it safer for the majority of it's citizens.
I agree with ya but I'm American so take it for what it's worth. Not much .

LOL....We do know exactly what a gun was designed to do and it does it very well indeed. However, humans are made with flaws and the human body is not a machine. What will cure one person could very well kill another. One does not pull a trigger to effect a cure in either animals or humans and contrary to the beliefs of some, being in the health system does not guarantee perfection. No human is perfect but they have managed to build some pretty well perfect machines.

Hey Granny- You should quit torturing yourself fussing over guns, they aren't going anywhere, anytime soon. Put your mind to something more constructive, bake a batch of cookies for the neighbour kids- they'll love you! :) :) :)

Let me explain it to you in a way that might make a little bit of sense.

Personally myself, I could care less about Canadian gun laws.. if I want to own a gun in Canada.. I'll own a gun in Canada. I feel its an individual right, regardless of federal laws.

There are tens of thousands of individuals who feel the same as I do in Canada. Go out to the Provincial lands to target practise.

Not hard to make your own ammo..

We live next to the largest gun countries in the world.. easy to import stuff.. parts are not restricted, and can be sent through the mail and assembled in Canada.

So, would you prefer to know where the guns are with easier registrations, or would you just like to wonder if your neighbor, or friend has a firearm.. and you don't know till you set him off.. or something.. ;)

FYI, I do now own firearms in Canada, I took my 1 day boring course and did my wait time..

Mao did not come into power until 1949 and gradually disarmed the populace. Then in the 1960s he began his "cultural revolution" which caused many deaths because people were disarmed. Bottom line is that an unarmed citizenry is vulnerable to government abuses.

Semantics........He became leader of the communist party in 1934 and continued to rise to power from there,, the exact date he disarmed the population is somewhat irrelevant....
Boomer..........
When the Gopher agrees in part with you......might be time to rethink your priorities huh????;-)

Burglar left bruised and bleeding by retired boxer, 72 - Telegraph

Semantics?? Now I know why some here are so paranoid. You seem not to know the difference between a democracy and a dictatorship. A democracy is where citizens choose by vote who gets to serve them for a period of time and a dictatorship where a thug elects himself/herself .. I am not saying a duly elected official will not abuse the power he/she is given but that is when the voters get to toss them out.

Interesting, however boxers and martial arts fighters hands and feet can been considered a deadly weapon.

Judge rules martial arts fighter's hands and feet are 'deadly weapons' in road rage attack

So basically you just glorified an attack on another person with a "concealed deadly weapon."

Your post FAILED!!
LOL, I pointed out was that one does not need a gun to defend oneself. Do you really think a retired boxer of 72 is a deadly weapon?? Your argument becomes even sillier, when the would be robber was merely beaten and captured. No deadly force.

Your argument infers that every driver on the road should carry a gun, in case they annoy a person trained in martial arts. So what happens under your logic, when one encounters a gun carrying person in road rage........is it to be a face off in a public place at 10 paces??

Talk about ridiculous.

Petros.......Canada has always had gun control and our rates of gun violence are lower because of it. It has nothing to do with Canadians being less violent or more sensible. Do your research.

Yes, 72 he is still a deadly weapon. Example: Bernard Hopkins - age means nothing.. knowledge and skill means everything.

Nope that's not my argument, that's just you digging yourself in deeper and showing your stupidity.
